Acer has launched its first AMD Radeon graphics cards in the form of the Predator BiFrost Radeon RX 7600 and the 7600 OC. It brings the same cooler design from the Predator BiFrost Arc GPUs that are based on Intel’s Arc platform. For now, they are listed on the company’s Taiwanese website but it comes with key specifications and pricing for both cards. For those expecting a BiFrost version of the Radeon RX 7900 series as was rumored earlier, the wait must continue.

Intel started selling it’sArc series GPUsin October of last year and Acer became one of its OEM partners. It revealed its first-ever GPUs, the Predator BiFrost Intel Arc A770 and the Arc A750. These came with a peculiar fan design with one fan being larger than the other. It has a blower-style cooling solution that uses a vapor chamber to streamline the airflow and then the two fans dissipate the heat. The smaller fan is 70mm while the bigger fan is 92mm, and this design works well when it comes to keeping the Arc A770 GPUs cool.

A part of Intel’s first dedicated graphics cards, the Arc A770 offers a great price-to-performance ratio but still needs to deliver on better drivers despite already offering better RT performance than entry-level AMD GPUs and going neck and neck with Nvidia’s RTX 3060 GPU in most benchmarks.

Gigabyte Radeon RX 7600 OC 8GB Windforce

Last month,it was rumoredthat Acer is working on a Predator BiFrost version of the high-end AMD Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards. The company was seemingly targeting theNvidia GeForce RTX 4080andRTX 4070 Ticards by offering competitive pricing. However, it seems like those waiting to see a Predator BiFrost Radeon RX 7900/X/XTX will have to keep waiting as Acer has now revealed its first AMD Radeon GPUs to be the Predator BiFrost Radeon RX 7600 and the 7600 OC. The two have been listed on Acer’s Taiwanese website along with specifications and pricing.

Looking at the specifications, the BiFrost cooler design should be able to keep either of the cards cool under load as it seems to be the same cooling system as on the BiFrost Intel Arc cards. The design has proved efficient with the more power-hungry Predator BiFrost Intel Arc A770 OC that has a TDP of 250W to 285W so in theory, it should have no problem dealing with the heat from the 170W and 180W Radeon cards.

Acer Predator BiFrost Radeon RX7600 Series Pricing

The non-OC model islisted on the Taiwanese websitefor NT$8,490 (around $275 US) while the OC variant is listed for NT$8,990 (around $292 US). This puts it right around the same price as some of the other board partner Radeon RX7600 series cards such as the $269 ASRock Challenger Radeon RX 7600, the $279 ASUS Dual Radeon RX 7600 OC Edition, and the $269 MSI Mech Radeon RX 7600.

As of now, it is unclear when the Predator BiFrost AMD Radeon GPUs will make it to the US market and what the exact pricing would be. Till then, a great alternative to the Acer variants is the Gigabyte Radeon RX 7600 Gaming OC which offers great value for money coming in at $259. What makes this a great value is the triple fan design as opposed to most of the other brands that offer dual-fan cooling solutions.

The Gigabyte Radeon RX 7600 Gaming OC is a triple-fan dual-slot graphics card that brings Gigabyte’s effective WINDFORCE cooling technology. It has three 80mm fans with alternate spinning that work alongside the five composite copper heat pipes that directly touch the GPU. The GPU uses the highest-grade metal chokes, 2oz copper PCB, lower ESR solid capacitors, and lower RDS(on) MOSFETs, among other features.
