Lilith, the developer of the popular mobile gameAFK Arena, has confirmed a new collaboration withWitcherby adding characters from the popular role-playing game and TV series. The idle role-playing game will introduce Geralt of Rivia and Yennefer of Vengerberg as playable characters inAFK Arena’s magical world of Esperia. Specifically,AFK Arenawill addThe Witcher 3: Wild Huntversions of those characters and skills based on Geralt’s and Yennefer’s appropriate abilities in the game. The new crossover featuring Geralt and Yennefer will commence on September 21.
AFK Arenais a role-playing game with interesting AFK features, which means that players accumulate rewards while away from their devices, or just idle with the game on. Furthermore, the combat can be entirely automated, including the ultimate skill use, requiring minimal attention for playing the game. The game offers over a hundred Heroes in seven factions, all of which have separate abilities and ultimate skills. The players choose a limited set of heroes from their hero library to take to battle against AI opponents in a campaign format and special events. The battle setup isfamiliar to turn-based RPGsbut is played entirely in real time.

AFK Arena’s latest additions to the list of Esperia’s Heroes arethe belovedWitcherprotagonist Geraltand his companion, the powerful sorceress Yennefer. With Geralt of Rivia,AFK Arenaequips the character with his legendary runesword enhanced with Severance runeword and gives him three witcher signs to blast his enemies. One of the skills is based on a mutation ability introduced inThe Witcher 3expansion Blood and Wine, Piercing Cold. In the expansion, it is an Aard sign enhancement that freezes enemies and kills them when knocked down, which should give an idea about its mechanics inAFK Arena.
The abilities of Yennefer inAFK Arena are also inspired by the magical nature of her powers inThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. WhileYennefer has gone through different formsin the mythology ofThe Witcher, her abilities inAFK Arenainclude both protective and damage spells. She is accompanied by a kestrel, a familiar bird that follows her inThe Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The kestrel accompanies Yennefer for her normal attacks. In terms of special attacks, she summons both Frost and Thunder spells to damage the enemies.
AFK Arenaemploys a gacha mechanic to add heroes, meaning that players pull heroes randomly as part of the gameplay. The game has previously introduced game crossovers featuring Queen and Joker fromPersona 5andEzio Auditore from theAssassin’s Creedseries, as well as characters Ainz Ooal Gown and Albedo from the Japanese novel seriesOverlord.
