OneAssassin’s Creedfan recently showed off their dedication to the franchise by recreating screenshots from the series in real life. During their visit to France and Italy, this fan matched iconic locations from multipleAssassin’s Creedgames to their real-life counterparts.
Famous-BlueRaincoat was theAssassin’s Creedfan responsible for taking these clever pictures. They recently posted their collage of comparison screenshots on theAssassin’s Creedsubreddit, which showcased their recreations of scenes fromUnityandBrotherhood.

FromAssassin’s Creed Unity, Famous-BlueRaincoat took pictures in front of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, France. During a visit to Rome, Italy, Famous-BlueRaincoat also took pictures in front of the Arch of Constantine, Coliseum, and Castel Sant’Angelo found inAssassin’s Creed Brotherhood. They also visited the Pantheon and took interior shots of the Oculus and the Temple of All Martyrs within it. Famous-BlueRaincoat even included themselves wearing a hood in shots where theAssassin’s Creedplayer characters Ezioor Arno were visible. When placed side-by-side with their video game counterparts, one can barely tell the difference.
Despite being a game full of mystical artifacts, ancient secrets, and precursor races, the overworld ofAssassin’s Creedis lauded for its historical accuracy. Though it gets fast and loose with some of its lore,Assassin’s Creeddoes an excellent job of recreating famous landmarks. This even ledAssassin’s Creedto develop Discovery Tour mode forOrigins, which enables players to explore ancient Egypt without combat or quests. This mode was so well received thatit was expanded toValhallaandOdyssey, and is used as an educational tool around the globe.
FellowAssassin’s Creedfans were quick to praise Famous-BlueRaincoat for the screenshots they took during their adventures. Many fans were jealous of the trip and looked forward to doing similar projects on their own future world tours. Other fans shared their own stories of visitingiconic locations fromAssassin’s Creed, joking that it was surreal to “[see] the game map in real life.” The wholesome post brightened the day ofAssassin’s Creedfans and history buffs alike.
With 12 main games in theAssassin’s Creedfranchise so far, dozens of cities and landmarks have appeared somewhere in the series. Fans who visit these places and learn about their historical significance will always be able to compare the real-life facts and sights to the ones found inAssassin’s Creed.WithMiragevisiting Iraq, andCodename Red,Jade, andHexetaking place in Japan, China, and somewhere in Europe respectively, fans will soon have plenty of new places to visit in real life after seeing their in-gameAssassin’s Creedcounterparts.
