Ubisoft announced today via a forum post that there are changes coming to Reda’s shop inAssassin’s Creed Valhalla. The announcement comes following many of the game’s fans expressing frustration with its microtransactions.
The changes focus primarily on a weekly rotation of premium items that will be made available for regular in-game currency, earned through gameplay. In the past, Reda’s shop offered three items thatAssassin’s Creed Valhallaplayers could choose from each week. The items offered are usually only available in the Animus Store for real money, but can be purchased with Opals, a currency rewarded for weekly and daily quest completion, when they are in Rena’s shop. The items available range from weapons to armor and tattoo sets tocustomizeAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s protagonist, Eivor.

Not only are the prices of longship items, settlement items, and tattoos being lowered when they appear in the shop, but starting when Reda’s shop resets on March 30 it will offer six items for players to choose from. In the post to Ubisoft’s forums by theAssassin’s CreedCommunity and Development teams, it say the change comes in response to discussions within the community about Rena’s shop, in direct response to theAssassin’s Creed Valhallacommunity’s feedback.
The changes seem to be positive ones. The community has had a lot to discuss lately, with some members upset over how the current Ostara Season event feels too familiar to the game’s previous Yule Season event, and with details leaking aboutAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s upcoming DLCs. The changes to Reda’s shop that give players more options to get premium cosmetic items without spending real money should gain the game some positive favor within the community.
