10Silent Hill
TheSilent Hillseries is in a bit of a hiatus right now, which is a shame sinceits last offering,P.T., was an absolute masterpiece that redefined the horror genre in many ways. It’s high time this series enjoys the comeback it deserves.
The perfect candidate for this would be a multiplayer game where players team up to either hunt or hide from the many horrors that lie within these games while solving puzzles. It’s a simple yet great idea that could be bolstered with theSilent Hillname.
9Amnesia
Speaking of iconic horror franchises, it’s hard to not mentiontheAmnesiaseriesin this conversation. After all, this game kickstarted the wave of first-person horror games that try to scare the wits out of players at every given opportunity.
While some people might not rateAmnesiathat highly, it’s a shame due to how great the game really is. A multiplayer game that capitalizes on the game’s flee-to-survive mentality could genuinely be great.

The two games in theSystem Shockseries are renowned for being some of the greatest immersive sims ever made, especially when it comes to the second game. The oppressive atmosphere and amazing gameplay form two ofSystem Shock’s strongest pillars.
The idea of roaming around a desolate spaceship with friends as SHODAN sends one threat after another sounds pretty exciting indeed. Given that there’s a new game and a remake of the first game that’s coming out, hopefully, this multiplayer title can become a reality as well.

There was a time whenSlenderwas easily one of the most popular horror game icons around. Trying to gather all eight pageswhile being hounded by the Slendermanis a harrowing yet highly enjoyable experience.
With the sheer number of Slenderman fan games, it wouldn’t be a surprise if one of them was a multiplayer experience. However, an official multiplayerSlendergame where players band together to hunt down these pages would be a pretty novel concept indeed.
4Clock Tower
Clock Toweris a series that might be pretty obscure right now, but this franchise boasts some serious quality. A combination of pulse-pounding gameplay and ingenious puzzle-solving have helped the series' best games shine brightly indeed.
Since the series has remained dormant for quite some time, the idea of a new game is nothing more than a pipe dream at this point. However, a game in theClock Toweruniverse with asymmetric multiplayer would be a ton of fun indeed.
3Manhunt
Manhuntis one of the most controversial gaming franchises around, with its developer feeding off this outrage to generate more marketing for the game. It’s a shame thatRockstarhasn’t revisited these titles, since they definitely hold a ton of promise.

In fact, a new game where players band together to either avoid a serial killer or hunt down innocents could be engaging. Rockstar has a ton of experience with multiplayer games now with the advent ofGrand Theft OnlineandRed Dead Online, so this could be a possibility.

Fatal Frame’s premise might be fairly simple, but the games can be pretty scary regardless. It’s pretty hard to try and take photos of nightmarish creatures when they’re breathing down the player’s neck at every opportunity…almost literally, at times!
Thischaotic and scary gameplaycan work well within the bounds of a multiplayer session. If such a game is executed well, then players can share some memorable moments indeed.
1Five Nights At Freddy’s
One ofthe most popularand divisive video game franchises of all time isFive Nights at Freddy’s. The series has evolved from a single jumpscare game about animatronics into something completely different.
Since the franchise has no boundaries when it comes to gameplay restrictions, a multiplayer game where players avoid these monsters could be an engaging prospect. However, whether this game will be executed properly is anyone’s guess.
