Call of Duty: Ghostsis generally considered one of the weaker games in theCall of Dutyfranchise, earning mixed reviews from both critics and fans alike at the time of its release. While there was a lot of negativity surroundingGhosts, though, one aspect of the game that was very well-received was the inclusion of the German Shepherd named Riley, who played a big role in the campaign story. Now Riley will be getting another lease on life, as the fan favorite pup has been added toCall of Duty: Modern Warfarethrough theSeason 3 Battle Pass.

Unless they purchase the special bundle,Call of Duty: Modern Warfareplayers will still have some work to do after they buy the Season 3 Battle Pass if they want to unlock Riley. Riley can’t be accessed until Tier 20, at which point he will be available as a Finishing Move that players can use when performing stealthy melee attacks on their enemies.

This isn’t the first time thatCall of Duty: Modern Warfarehas added a dog to the game. TheTalon multiplayer Operator also has a dog, which goes by the name Indiana. Similarly to Riley, Talon’s dog appears when players perform a Finishing Move, and they can also see it walking alongside their character in the lobby before starting a match.

Moving forward, it will be interesting to see ifModern Warfareincorporates more content fromCall of Duty: Ghosts. As previously mentioned,Ghostsis far from the most popularCall of Dutygame out there, and as a result, references to it are generally avoided. So far,Modern Warfarehas largely focused onremakingCall of Duty 4mapsas well asMW2maps, so it’s unclear ifGhostswill get more love down the line.

However, it’s certainly within the realm of possibility that Infinity Ward will start remakingGhostsmultiplayer maps forModern Warfareat some point. After all, it will eventually get through all thebigMW2andCoD4multiplayer maps, so maybe at that point it will take a look at redoing some maps fromGhosts.

TheModern WarfareSeason 3 road mapdoesn’t seem to indicate that anyGhostsmaps or other content is on the way in the near future, though, so fans will just have to be satisfied with Riley’s addition to the game for the time being.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfareis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
