Summary
Call of Duty: Warzonehas had several maps across its three-year history. The original map Verdanskand its 1984 variant are beloved and fondly missed, even if the community was ready for them to be retired when they were first replaced. Though it started to win some fans over with time, Caldera was a lot more divisive, with Al Mazrah being a solid-if-bland map. While small and medium-sized maps like Rebirth Island, Vondel, and Ashika Island have many fans, a lot of players are patiently waiting for the next big map called Urzikstan.
Call of Duty: Warzonewill be making Urzisktan available alongside the launch ofModern Warfare 3Season 1 on December 6, and fans have seen their share of screenshots and discussion about the location. However, those looking to be ahead of the competition on launch day can actually play on the map a bit early, assuming that they purchasedModern Warfare 3. With both a multiplayer and PvE path to trying Urzikstan early,MW3can be a useful tool for those looking to get an advantage inWarzone.

Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Gives Players a Chance to Learn Urzikstan
While gamers cannot experience battle royale gameplay withinUrzikstanuntil December 6, they can still explore the map and figure out a flow prior to its official release. The easiest way to do this is by loading into a match ofModern WarfareZombies, as the mode features Urzikstan in its entirety. While a lack of unique, Zombies-only areas within the map has been a downside for fans of the mode, it can be seen as a plus by those who want to use it purely to study up on the upcoming battle royale map. Fighting hordes of undead and the occasional group of mercenaries may be significantly different from battling real players, but MWZ letting players patrol the entirety of the map is beneficial. Players can find their favorite loot spots, master the terrain, and plot out routes they plan to use inWarzone.
Even after a disappointing nerf to how much weapon XP players can earn, as well asMWZ’s exfilsbeing changed for the worst, the mode provides an easy place to grind out weapon XP for those seeking an alternative multiplayer matches. Prepping a handful of new weapons before Urzikstan arrives could be advantageous.

Modern Warfare 3’s Ground War Provides an Even Clearer Taste of Urzikstan
WhileCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Ground War modeonly offers three maps, those being Popov Power, Levin Resort, and Orlov Military Base, all are locations pulled directly from Urzikstan. While MWZ will help more with learning the flow of Urzikstan as a whole, Ground War provides fights against actual players in high traffic areas taken straight from Urzikstan. While there are things like tanks and high tier streaks to deal with in Ground War that will not be present inWarzone, the infantry battles in and around buildings will feel a bit more like what players are going to see on December 6. Additionally, for players who want to get into even more hectic fights, Invasion adds AI-controlled enemies to the mix but features the same maps.
Ultimately, players do not need to playCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3to succeed in Urzikstan, but if they already own the game, playing Ground War and MWZ ahead of the map’s debut would help make it more familiar. Just looking at screenshots and the map’s layout is not the same as actually playing it, so getting a proper feel for Urzikstan allows players to make sure they are at the top of their game whenCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3Season 1kicks off. Whether they choose to battle other players in Ground War or face off against some AI-controlled Zombies, they will be learning the ins and outs of Urzikstan and ranking up their guns.
