Activision’s battle royaleCall of Duty: Warzone, a spin-off of its first-person shooter franchise, has garnered big numbers since release. In fact, the game has been so popular that Internet marketplace OnBuy has beenhiring ‘Gulag Gurus’ to train playersso they can win more often. With that volume of people playing, inevitably glitches and bugs will come to the surface, and a player who goes by Acez Gaming on YouTube has found a particularly egregious one.

In a video uploaded yesterday, Acez outlines a glitch to get infinite ammunition on any weapon that is able to use the “Akimbo” perk, essentially allowing players to dual wield guns at the expense of accuracy. When using Akimbo inCall of Duty: Warzone, Acez is able to unload the entire clip of their leftmost pistol without firing the other, swap it out with a weapon on the ground, and then pick the first gun up again with automatically reloaded ammo.

The glitch seems to occur because the game only registers the pistol in a player’s right hand as the main weapon when using the Akimbo perk, or at least that’s what Acez believes. Though fully utilizing the glitch means hunkering down next to a loose weapon on the floor, they believe it could have a huge impact given players don’t have to manually reload when using powerful guns like the 357 Snakeshot orweapons with extra attachments.

There are arguably more overtly broken glitches that have been discovered inWarzonethus far. Some players have been able to glitch through level geometry toshoot opponents through the wallfor example, and others have been able to make themselves outright invincible.

However, in a battle royale, there is something to be said about forcing opponents to come into a situation where they are vastly outnumbered in terms of ammo. At this point, it’s hard to tell whether players who utilize this infinite ammo glitch will be affected by the same sweeping bans as the70,000 cheaters that Infinity Ward hitlast week.

It’s hard to argue with the company making moves so its new game will be fairer, and thus last longer in the public consciousness. Already complaints have been levied againstWarzonefor its abundance of cheaters, though in the case of this Akimbo glitch there likely won’t be a lot of work necessary to patch things up.

Call of Duty: Warzoneis out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
