Funko Pop has unveiled the lineup ofCyberpunk 2077toys created forCD Projekt Red’s upcoming dystopian sci-fi role-playing game, and in doing so the company revealed an unknown and possibly important character from the game.
The new character was initially hinted at on January 10 but was unveiled for the first time at the London Toy Fair on January 21. The five Funko Pop vinyl toys created for CD Projekt Red’s game included the expected male and female V characters, two versions ofJohnny Silverhand, and a fifth character named Takemura.

Not much is known about this mysterious character, other than that he is male. He does not seem to feature in previousCyberpunklore and therefore is probably a character created specifically for the game. The fact that Takemura merits his ownFunko Pop toyimplies that he plays an important role in the story ofCyberpunk 2077, at least in theory. However, Funko Pop doesn’t always shy away from giving even obscure characters the vinyl toy treatment.
Not many of the characters fromCyberpunk 2077have been revealed yet, although players following the game’s development learned during E3 2018 that the player character is named V and that gamers will haveneither a male nor female versionto choose from. Instead, the protagonist of the game can be fully customized and will initially have an androgynous appearance, allowing players to select their preferred body type and whether their character will have a masculine or feminine voice.
Most gamers are of course also aware of the character played byKeanu Reeves inCyberpunk 2077, Johnny Silverhand, a Rockerboy who uses his position as lead singer of the band Samurai to vocally rebel against authority. Silverhand has been an established character in theCyberpunkuniverse since his appearance inCyberpunk 2013, which was first published in 1988. The unexpected revelation that Reeves would be taking on that role in the game was revealed in a trailer atMicrosoft’s E3 conference in 2019and was a highlight of the event for many people.
The Funko Pop characters measure 3.75” inches tall and come packaged in a windowed display box. For those eager to get their hands on the cute vinyl toys, they are already available for preorder on some sites. Perhaps that will give eager fans some solace as they wait forCyberpunk 2077’srelease, which was recently delayed by five months.
Cyberpunk 2077will be released on August 12, 2025, for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia.
