The Military Supplies are one of the earlier ‘locked chests’ that players will encounter inDead Island 2, but thankfully it’s one with the key to unlocking it not too far away.

There is a whole slew of different containers, chests, cubbies, and more inDead Island 2that require players to grab their keys from specific Named Zombies or find them in specific locations. So, let’s go over exactly where players will find the Military Supplies Key
When Is The Military Supplies Key First Obtainable?
First off,like many other unique itemsinDead Island 2, the Military Supplies Key isn’t available for players to find until a specific progress threshold has been passed.
In this case, theDrill Sergeant Named Zombieholding this Key won’t appear until after players have finished the ‘Room Service for Major Booker’ Story Quest at the Halperin Hotel. Once they finish this and start heading back to Emma Jaunt’s mansion in Bel-Air, they’ll likely stumble upon this key. Or, at worst, they can swing back for it when returningfor theRav-ages of Caustic-XSide Questa bit later on.
Getting The Military Supplies Key From The Drill Sergeant
During theMajor Booker Story Questplayers will encounter their firstCrusher, AKABecki the Bride, as the final ‘boss’ of the Quest. From this point onward, Crushers will appear alongside the standard Runner and Shambler zombies, and this list of enemies only grows over the course of the game.
Because of this, theDrill Sergeantwill now spawn, as this is aNamed Zombie Apex Crusher. To locate him, players simply need to start heading back to the Exit Point they came in from that leads to Bel-Air. On the way they should run into the Drill Sergeant just standing in the middle of the street leading into the surburban area, so he’s pretty difficult to miss.
Kill the Seargent byPerfect Dodging/Parryinghis regular swings and jumping, blocking, or dodging through his Ground Slams and he’ll drop theMilitary Supplies Keyon death.
Using The Key To Open The Military Supplies
Thankfully,the actual Military Supplies aren’t too far from the Drill Sergeant.To be more precise, it’s just down the street from him. While heading towards the Exit Point leading back to Bel-Air, instead of turning right to go down the small pathway leading to the spinning entrance checkpoint to Bel-Air, keep going forward.
Players should see 2 shipping containers ahead of them, with a Workbench and military Humvee sitting in front of the open one. Head to the back of this Humvee, and the yellowMilitary Suppliescontainer should be right there for players to open up and get the weapon out of it.
It’s still not 100 percent confirmed how the loot table works for these locked containers, as some have specific weapons come out of them while others have reports of different weapon rewards for different players, but the vast majority of players seem to have received aGuarding Military Knifefrom this one. Regardless, the weapon will always pop out of the Supplies Container as one that’s of a similar level to the player’s current level. With that in mind, a patient player can absolutely wait until they start finding Rare and Superior Gearin the 15+ levelsand then come back to theseMilitary Suppliesto claim their weapon.
