Destiny 2is an ever-evolving game that keeps on getting new features, even some the community has been asking for over the years, and one of the biggest additions of 2021 was the Armor Synthesis system. This came with the reprised main character from the Black Armory expansion, Ada-1, and it acts as a transmog system that allows players to turn any armor piece inDestiny 2into a universal ornament. The main reason why this was such a big change is that players had to often either use bad armor pieces that made for great looks or vice versa, but now they can use the best pieces for their builds and their looks together.
A common trend since the release ofDestiny 2’s transmog system is that players try to recreate iconic characters from other franchises in various ways. An example is a player who shared alook for their Titan inspired by Winnie the Pooh, with a red top and yellow-orange tones for the rest of the armor, combined with the Precious Scars Exotic helmet and its ornament, called Broken Dreams, which seems to have rounded ears like those of the popular bear. There are plenty of great creations made byDestiny 2’s community, and some of them truly make clever use of underused armor sets and Shaders.

Destiny 2 Custom Character: Bob the Builder
A Reddit user called carriesonfishord shared aBob the Builderlook for theirDestiny 2Titan, which sports the iconic yellow worker hat and Bob’s orange shirt, as well as a jeans jacket and trousers. Most of the pieces used for this set come from the 30th Anniversary Pack’s new cosmetic items, namely the Ringwalker ornaments for the helm, chest armor, legs, and mark. As for the arms, carriesonfishord used the Aeon Safe Exotic, which is also a really solid choice for high-end PvE content inDestiny 2, such as Grandmaster Nightfall Strikes, where providing one’s team members with extra ammo can make all the difference.
Destiny 2 Custom Character: Bloodborne Hunter
Bloodborne’s huntershave an emblematic look that aDestiny 2player tried to replicate, and then shared the results on Reddit under the name of VenoGreedo. The player tried to achieve the tricorn used by hunters with the Felwinter’s Helm Exotic, which turned the Warlock into a very credibleBloodbornecharacter when combined with long robes and other less futuristic armor pieces. Abyssinian Gold and Tangled Bronze are perfect Shaders to use on the set, making it more akin to that of hunters.
Destiny 2 Custom Character: Oompa Loompa
This silly costume was first shared on Reddit by a user called TheRealGroovyGrim, who decided to turn theirDestiny 2Hunterinto an Oompa Loompa from Roald Dahl’sCharlie and the Chocolate Factory. Oompa Loompas are commonly depicted with green hair, orange skin, white overalls, and a brown shirt underneath them. This set makes clever use of Season of the Chosen’s armor pieces from the Season Pass, as well as the Dragon’s Shadow Exotic chest armor, and a mix of Shaders to render the original colors perfectly.
Destiny 2 Custom Character: Rick Astley
While armor pieces and ornaments are forever interchangeable,Destiny 2players cannot modify their characters' race and facial features after they are created, so a Redditor by the name of That_Soulless_Ginger made their Titan look like the renowned singer Rick Astley. Known for his hit single"Never Gonna Give You Up,“Rick Astley later became internet-famous for memes where people would redirect all sorts of links to the popular song as a means of trolling. That_Soulless_Ginger managed to encapsulate Rick Astley’s look from the song’s official video with armor pieces that make the Titan look like he is wearing a long coat.

Destiny 2 Custom Character: Paddington Bear
A Redditor by the name of mecha_frog1 shared a fantastic Warlock look that’s inspired by the popular movie,Paddington. Paddington is the titular character, a bear who travels all the way from Peru to London and ends up wearing the quintessential red hat and blue coat that make the adorable protagonist so distinguishable. InDestiny 2, that’s possible by using the Intrepid Inquiry Hood from theEververse Shop, which is perfect to portray Paddington’s hat, as well as the Wrath Trail Robes for the coat.
Destiny 2 Custom Character: Spider-Gwen
Another greatDestiny 2look comes from a Reddit user called KoalaTeaGuy, who shared their fantastic take on Spider-Gwen fromInto the Spider-Verse. The Redditor also shared a screenshot of their Hunter using an Exotic emote to emulate Spider-Gwen using her phone, and overall, the resemblance is uncanny. The main armor pieces that stand out the most are the Frostveil Mask for the helm, the Athrys' Embrace Exotic gauntlets for the arms, and the Dreamer’s Cloak - a common cloak for Hunters that can, fortunately, take Shaders anyway.
Destiny 2 Custom Character: Yondu Udonta
A Reddit user called Rocket-Billy shared a very spot-on Warlock look inspired by the MCU’sGuardians of the Galaxy, and particularly, by Yondu Udonta. Yondu was a pivotal character in the originalGuardians of the Galaxycomics, and he was always depicted with blue skin and a red fin. This is exactly what Rocket-Billy tried to achieve for theirDestiny 2Warlock, which uses the Celestine Hood for the helm combined with the Dawning Elegance Shader, and red garments to recreate Yondu’s look in the movies.
Destiny 2 Custom Character: Nathan Drake
Lastly, another amazing submission comes from a Redditor called DredgenSpectre, who made an incredibleUncharted-inspired set for theirDestiny 2Hunter. Because the Intrepid armor set has perfect ornaments to use forDestiny 2Hunters who want to achieve anIndiana Joneslook, they also worked wonders for a Nathan Drake costume. With theUnchartedmovie coming up, this is a good time to sport a look inspired by the classic video game series' protagonist.
Destiny 2is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
