Druids inDiablo 4can breathe a sigh of relief, as they will no longer be receiving Unique items from other classes by accident. Though the developers at Blizzard have had their hands full of addressing severalissues since the launch ofDiablo 4, a few bugs have quite confused and frustrated the playerbase as the loot bug which accidentally caused Druid players to receive Barbarian Unique weapons. While Druids were capable of equipping these items, the Legendary Aspect tethered to each weapon was unusable.
Otherclasses inDiablo 4enjoyed a careless grind to endgame, whereas Druids had to worry about potentially “wasting” a Legendary drop on a Unique not meant for them. Though Barbarian players had to endure not having their best Legendary Aspects available at launch due to unforeseen exploits, Druids were actively punished for playing their class for a much longer time span.

Thankfully, it seems that Blizzard Entertainment has finally resolved the issue in Hotfix 12 forDiablo 4. Ancient’s Oath, Hellhammer, and Overkill will no longer drop for Druid players. Those who have the Barbarian weapons equipped will be able to keep them, but un-equipping will render them unusable. Given that there’s virtually a nonexistent chance for the glitch to repeat in the future, it’s quite likely that some players will choose to retire their Druids with Barbarian weapons to preserve the uniqueness in perpetuity.
Other fixes from the update include better stability and performance, hopefully further reducing the stutter that some Diablo 4 players have been experiencing when traveling through the Regions of Sanctuary. In addition,Sorcerer players inDiablo 4will now be able to apply the bonus damage from Combustion accordingly, though it’s highly likely that Sorcerer will need a far broader buff to measure up with the other classes at endgame. Relying on using three Defensive skills for any endgame Sorcerer build, with Ice Shard being the only viable Core skill, simply isn’t fun.
Though Season 1 is on the horizon, the majority of features thatimprove the quality of life inDiablo 4are scheduled to arrive with Season 2. As promised during the Campfire Chat on June 16, Resistances will be adjusted to become viable at endgame, and gems will become crafting materials with auto-loot support, but the larger issues of inventory management and itemization will take some time to fix. For now, at least, all fiveDiablo 4classes will have equal opportunities the next time a shiny Legendary item drops on the ground.

Gameplay Fixes
Developer Note: We do want to forewarn that Druid players with these weapons already equipped will still be able to use them, but you will not be able to re-equip them if removed from your weapon slot. These uniques will no longer be available for Druid players to use moving forward.
