Starting out solo inEnshroudedcan be tough for some players, especially those who want to use ranged weapons, or create a build something like a Battlemage. This is because so much of the early-game combat is at melee range. However, things do get easier quite quickly, once the player has looted or crafted some basic gear. Materials for crafting and also weapons can be looted from low-level POI close to the starting area.
Enshrouded, launched in early 2024, combines action, roleplaying,survival, and crafting into a well-rounded package that has received very positive reviews. The game map was made by hand and provides a wonderful background for exploring and masteringEnshrouded.
8Small Shrouded Area
Just South Of Base Location
This patch of Shrouded ruins is very close to the place where the player is told to build a base as part of the introductory quest. It has a couple of very low-level enemies and some wolves patrolling around but these are easily dealt with even with basic equipment.
In the middle of this area, is a staircase heading downward. The player will need to equip a torch or another source of light to explore this. There are barrels and boxes to destroy and loot for materials, and a single chest in the corner.
7Longkeep
Just West Of The Base Location
Longkeep is a pretty large, low-level POI that is very close the the new player base location inEnshrouded. It is just to the west. This is a good POI forfarming and looting materials, after smashing up boxes and barrels. There is also a lore book to discover here.
Parts of Longkeep are within the Shroud, and these tend to be the best loot locations. When players enter the Shrouded areas, they should keep an eye open for chests and other good loot. There are only a handful of low-level enemies patrolling this sprawling POI.
6Wolf Cave
South Of New Base Location
This is a small cave, that is guarded by three wolves. They are easy to kill and are a good source of bones, and also meat that can be cooked and used as buffs. They can also be used to practicebow skillsquite safely, as there is a large open space in front of the cave.
Within this cave, are several boxes and barrels, these can be destroyed and the resulting materials collected. There is a lootable bookcase. This is a good low-level POI that can be farmed over and over by new players, to farm a decent quantity of basic crafting and building materials.
5Large Shrouded Area Below Braelyn Bridge
Found When Completing The Blacksmith Quest
One of the very first signpost quests that newEnshroudedplayers are given, is to locate and free the Blacksmithcrafting NPC. On the way to complete this quest, the player will be guided through a large shrouded area that is underneath Braelyn Bridge.
This is a pretty dangerous area for novice players, but once they have some basic gear and understand how combat works, this is a great area to farm for materials. There are also a couple of lore books to be found in this shrouded area.
4Rookmore
Northwest Of The Player Starting Base
Rookmore is a large low-level POI that is located around 400m northwest of the player’s starting location. There are quite a few enemies patrolling this POI, so new players need to take care. There are many destroyable chests and boxes, as well as some uncommon chests to be looted.
Don’t miss the small house on the ledge at the rear of this POI. The front door is locked, and a lockpick will be needed to get inside, but this is where the best loot is in this POI.
3Large Shrouded Area On The Way To Woodgard
Located While Completing The Alchemist Crafting NPC Quest
Most beginners inEnshroudedwill uncover this part of the map whilst trying to locate the vault where the sleeping Alchemist crafting NPC is located. This is a large, slightly tougher patch of shrouded land.
Enemies here are level 2 or 3. Care needs to be taken by players who are attempting a ranger build or using ranger skills.Tank buildswill fare better. There is plenty to loot in this area, including a patch of Shroud Liquid, which should not be passed up. Overall, this is a great area to level up by farming the enemies. Players need to take care to not spend too long looting in the Shroud, otherwise, their protection might run out and they may notsurvive the Shroud.
2Woodgard
Slightly Tougher POI
This POI shifts the danger up a notch compared to the POI mentioned so far on this list, but it is worth a little danger because there are multiple loot chests in this POI. There are also many boxes and crates to destroy and collect materials.
There is so much to loot in this huge POI, that it is likely the player’s inventory will be full before they have finished looting the entire place. Enemies in this POI are mostly level 3. This is also a difficult POI to use ranged weapons such as wands and bows. So bring a melee weapon and shield.
1Scavenger Stash
Located West Of The Location Of The Alchemist Crafting NPC
This POI is the toughest yet. Rather than Shrouded monsters and wolves, this POI is populated by level 3 and above Scavenger humanoids. These are scattered around this POI in small groups and are going to be a challenge for new players with basic gear.
This POI is well worth clearing out though, despite the risk. This is because once cleared, the player is given a waypoint to the Scavenger Stash. In a chest in the stash location is the Wailing Blade. A legendary one-handed sword that also acts as a light source. This is well worth getting as soon as possible, as it provides a real boost for melee builds.
