Elden Ringhas many option bosses for players to find called Field Bosses. Some of these Field Bosses are found in Evergaols, which are stone circles in the ground that teleport players to an alternate dimension only slightly larger than the stone circle that houses a powerful boss.

One of these Evergaols houses the Forlorn Hound and can be found fairly early in the game. Entering anddefeating bosses of Evergaolswill often reward players will a powerful weapon, with the Forlorn Hound giving them a powerful Dexterity weapon players may consider using during the early stages of the game.

The Forlorn Hound Evergaol Location On The Map

Where To Find Forlorn Hound Evergaol In Elden Ring

To reach theForlorn Hound Evergaol, players need to head to thesouthern section of Limgrave, close to where it connects to the Weeping Peninsula. Just off the main road to the southbefore the bridge is the Agheel South Lake Site Of Grace. Following the path further south will have it split off with a smaller road that leads up a hill off to the right. Take this hill and pass a Stake of Marika with the Evergaol being straight ahead. Be sure to fully prepare before entering the Evergaol as doing so will trigger the boss fight seconds after the player enters.

How To Defeat Bloodhound Knight Darriwil In Elden Ring

Bloodhound Knight Darriwil deals slashing damage along with a Bleed build-up to result in large damage if hit enough. This boss doesn’t have any major resistances to worry about anddoes take increaseddamage from lightning incantationsor attacksshould the player have access to that element in some form. Most of the boss’s attacks can be parried and will come from his sword or claw hand.

Bloodhound KnightDarriwil is quick and can briefly disappear to wind up an attack from a different position. While dodging is possible, blocking most attacks from this boss is the better option as locking on will help players keep track of the boss and its attacks as it jumps around. Keep combos short and don’t wind up high damage single attacks that the boss can easily dodge. Darriwil will hold the upper hand in the entire fight, so it’s best to get quick attacks between combos and play the long game.

The Bloodhound’s Fang In The Inventory

Passive Effects

This weaponcan’t be equipped with an Ash of War as it has the unique ability Bloodhound’s Finesse. This ability has two parts; an opening attack that has the player launch backwards and out of harm’s way. The second part of the ability will have them lunge back at the enemy with a strong attack at incredible speed. This ability gives great mobility for the player and is an easy way to land strong attacks or close a distance between the player and an enemy.

With some upgrades, this weapon eventually reaches a Dexterity Scaling of B,which is fairly good for the first half of the game. There are many very powerfulDexterity weapons inElden Ring, and players will later find a better option that does everything this weapon does. That being said, it’s a great early-game weapon players can get to help clear the first few legacy dungeons and major bosses on the road to a powerful Dexterity build.
