Marvel fans have a lot of questions aboutEternals, most importantly why the heroes stayed on the sidelines when Thanos was wiping half of the universe’s population. While they still don’t have the answers to said questions, the cast of the upcoming film has united to try and break down the plot in just 60 seconds.

The latestEternalsfeaturette released by Marvel Studios brings together most of the main cast members, including Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Don Lee, and Barry Keoghan. Together, they simplify the plot of the much-awaited film. From the creation of the heroes to their multiple battles against Deviants, the stars have it all covered.

The minute-long video begins with the cast promising to reveal everything that fans need to know about the heroes’ timeline within a minute. A timer then shows up on the screen, and off they go with their story narration. It begins with the Big Bang when the universe is created, followed byCelestials roaming the universe. These powerful beings are responsible for creating the Eternals, “the original superheroes,” which is where the film’s characters come into the picture.

TheDeviants first appeared in the universein 5000 BC, and their aim was to “destroy all life in existence.” The Eternals were then sent to Earth “aboard a giant spaceship named Domo” to save humanity. Hundreds of years later, after defeating all the Deviants, the heroes decide to “break up” and go their separate ways, living on Earth with secret identities.

While the heroes were away,Thanos came into the picture, found all the Infinity Stones, and destroyed half of all life in the universe. No explanation is offered at this point by any of theEternalscast as to why they didn’t stop him. Instead, they give credit to the Avengers for the work they did during the Infinity Saga in thwarting Thanos’ evil plan and bringing everyone back.

However, the threat won’t end there, as the Eternals will be forced to return to their superhero avatars and fight more evil. Fans will have to see the film to fill in all the gaps, but it seems like the Mad Titan’s feat could potentially be covered.
