Blizzard legend Chris Metzen is playingWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflight, and he recently posted a touching tribute to one of the expansion’s best side quests. Associated with the quest titled “Stay a While,” players have the chance to sit on a cliff side and chat about the past with the old dragon. Players who encountered the side quest–including Metzen–were struck by the somber, emotional moment they were able to share with the character inDragonflight.

TheWorld of Warcraftcommunity came together on Metzen’s post to share their own experiences with the touching quest. Metzen himself shared some of his other favorite moments inDragonflightso far, including the tour of the Ohn’ahran Plains alongside the Maruuk Centaur, and the cart ride withWrathion and Sabellian early on inDragonflight. Players seem to agree the small moments across the Dragon Isles have enabled the expansion to truly shine.

Though Metzen no longer works for Blizzard, he still provides voice acting for characters like Thrall and Varian Wrynn inWorld of Warcraft, and Bastion inOverwatch. In 2020,Metzen founded Warchief Gaming, a tabletop role-playing game company currently working onAuroboros: Coils of the Serpent, its first major project.
