Releasing cosmetics for characters has never been as popular inGenshin Impact, at least compared to most free-to-play games. Developers at miHoYo may be working on a couple of new skins for existingGenshin Impactcharacters according to multiple leaks and rumors.

Skins have been a far less frequent addition than the 2-3 new characters that typically join the game with each new update. While many fans of the game have been requesting skins forGenshin Impact’s sizable cast, the developers have so far only released a pair of skins for Mondstadt’s Barbara and Jean despite fan demand for more cosmetics to bring a new style for their favorite characters. However, the currentGenshin Impactupdate 2.4officially introduced two new skins for Keqing and Ningguang.

Even though most players enjoy the fact thatNinguang’s Orchid’s Evening Gown skinis free, a small detail has actually disturbed the game’s community. The back of her new costume apparently doesn’t display shoulder blades which makes her overall appearance seem very unnatural. Many fans started speculating that the absence of this small detail could be a part of miHoYo’s recent censorship actions in which manyGenshin Impactcharacters have received alternate skins. Luckily, miHoYo has officially confirmed that it’s actually a bug that will be fixed in the upcoming update 2.5.

It seems as though Ningguang’s skin is not the only one causing issues at the moment. Apparently one of the fouralternateGenshin Impactcostumesthat were added in this update provided a significant damage buff before it was patched by developer miHoYo. Unfortunately, the buff did not apply in the Spiral Abyss which prevented players from getting their missing stars. While most of the new outfits are only minor alterations to the original designs, the Cryo polearm user Rosaria will see some significant changes.

A credibleGenshin Impactleaker by the name Ubatcha1 has previously revealed more information about skins for future updates. Apparently, the updates that will follow 2.4 will most likely bring additional cosmetics tied with the popular region of Mondstadt. While the current update is all about the Chinese New Year with a focus on Liyue,Genshin Impactupdate 2.5could bring the spotlight back to the city of Mondstadt. The same pattern was introduced back in 2021 when the Lantern Rite event was followed by the Windblume Festival which was considered one of the best events at the time.

Genshin Impactis available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is currently in development.
