Catalyst users are not typically popular among theGenshin Impactcommunity, especially for a main DPS. So far, only Sangonomiya Kokomi evermade it to theGenshin Impactmetaas a primary DPS. Sucrose is also a meta character, but she performs as a support/sub-DPS rather than a main DPS.

Behind the line-up for Catalyst users, there’s a hidden jewel called Ningguang. It’s unclear why she’s a 4-star character given her role in the story, but it obviously causes Ningguang to easily get overlooked. In truth, the Tianquan has a lot of potential on her hand, as long as players use her right and equip her with the best weapons for Ningguang inGenshin Impact.
7Prototype Amber
Prototype Amber is a highly-niche weapon forNingguang inGenshin Impact, and is only meant to be used in one specific role: Healer Ningguang. The weapon’s passive allows the team to regenerate 18% HP every time the Tianquan casts her Burst. Considering Ningguang’s ultimate only needs 40 Energy and 12s to be used, spamming Elemental Burst is trivial for her. The HP secondary stat provided from Prototype Amber won’t do much, though. It will enhance the durability of Ningguang’s Jade Screen, but nothing more.
6Dodoco Tales

Dodoco Tales is afree Catalyst fromGenshin Impact1.6. It has a low base ATK for a 4-star weapon, which makes its secondary stat quite awkward. Luckily, as it’s an event weapon, players can get maximum refinement on the weapon for free. With Dodoco Tales, Ningguang will enhance her Charged Attack DMG and her ATK. As her playstyle sequence rotates between Normal Attack and Charged Attack, maintaining Dodoco Tales’ passive will be a walk in the park.
5The Widsith
The Widsith is undoubtedly one of atop-tier Catalysts inGenshin Impact. It grants Critical DMG from its sub-stat while the passive can give an insane stat buff. However, the buff provided from Widsith’s passive is random and is only granted for 10s every 30s. Additionally, one of the bonuses is Elemental Mastery. As a Geo unit, this stat is practically useless for Ningguang, limiting the potential of Widsith in her hand.
4Solar Pearl

Even though Solar Pearl doesn’t boost Charged Attack DMG, it still enhances the rest of Ningguang’s hits. With her low Elemental Skill and Burst cooldown, it’d be easy for Ningguang to maintain all DMG bonuses of Solar Pearl. Unfortunately, thisGenshin ImpactCatalystis exclusively obtainable from the Battle Pass, so F2P players won’t get to have one.
3Memory of Dust
Memory of Dust has the most pleasing aesthetic for Ningguang, and it performs really well, too. Since Ningguang should be played in a Geo Resonance, the Shield Strength bonus from Memory of Dust will surely come in handy. Geo Resonance grants a 15% DMG Bonus as long as the character is protected by a shield.
2Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds

Lost Prayer is immensely helpful for its largeCritical Rate sub-stat inGenshin Impact. With this Catalyst, players don’t have to worry much about getting a good Crit Ratio. However, the passive from this weapon is sadly very situational. For Travelers to fully benefit from Lost Prayer, Ningguang has to stay on the field as long as possible.
1Skyward Atlas
Skyward Atlas is agreat 5-starGenshin ImpactCatalystthanks to its flexibility. It has a massive Base ATK and further ATK% bonus from its secondary stat. For main DPS Ningguang, the Catalyst will also periodically deal Physical DMG from its passive.
