AGenshin Impactfan has created an interesting concept for a Geo rework that could significantly improve the element’s place in the current meta. There are seven different elements in the game with Dendro being the most recently introduced one. Combining different elements will allow players to trigger various elemental reactions that can have different effects, from dealing AoE damage with Electro-Charged to immobilizing groups of enemies with Frozen.
The addition ofGenshin Impact’s Dendro element has also introduced new elemental reactions which had a significant impact on the character meta. None of these new reactions can interact with Geo which has caused this element to remain almost completely isolated in most team compositions.

A Reddit user named Eltanin has shared an interesting Geo rework concept that could bring this element back to the meta. At the moment, theonly elemental reaction Geo can trigger is Crystyllizewhich drops small elemental shards on the ground which can be collected, and they provide a decent elemental shield. The proposed rework would keep Crystylize’s defensive nature by making sure that the new reactions would only be triggered if the active character already has a Geo shield equipped. According to the rework, dealing Cryo damage to a Crystallize shard should cause a small AoE explosion that would apply a debuff called Petrify that would slow the enemies' attack and movement speed. This effect can be stacked, and it would completely freeze an opponent until a certain number of stacks are reached.
Magnetize can be triggered by combining Electro with a Crystyllize shard and just like the previous reaction, it will cause an AoE explosion that applies a debuff. Enemies affected by this debuff will release a pulse of energy whenever they get hit byan attack from an Electro character. All enemies under this effect will also get slowly pulled together.
Unlike the two previous reworked reactions, Eruption will not apply any debuffs. Instead, whenever a player deals Pyro damageto a shard, it will cause a Pyro explosion that will split the shard into three smaller pieces. Each of these smaller particles will deal Geo damage to the targets that they hit.
Many fans claim that this is probably the best rework proposal they have seen yet as it wouldn’t make Geo the most powerful element in the game. At the moment, the only viable Geo character in the current meta is probablythe popular Geo Archon Zhongliwhose kit is stacked with both offensive and defensive abilities.
Genshin Impactis now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
