While most ofGenshin Impact’s quests have a marker to follow, the Foolish Fatuus quest requires more dedication since it’s difficult to follow through with it. But once players understand its formula, they’ll get the hang of it quickly. When the requirement is fulfilled, go back to one of the locations to trigger the Foolish Fatuus quest inGenshin Impact.

How To Trigger The Foolish Fatuus Quest In Genshin Impact
To trigger the Foolish Fatuus quest inGenshin Impact, players have to visit one of the eight Eremite campsafter deactivating all eight Energy Extraction Devices. The Eremite camps are located around the border of version 3.0 Sumeru, and people can see it on their map as a small blue circle with sands around it.
After all eight Energy Extraction Devices are deactivated, go to the Eremite Camp southwest ofYasna Monument inGenshin Impact. There, Travelers will see a Fatui Pyro Agent namedOlegalong with an Eremite calledKasim.
Despite trying to hide, the two will notice the protagonist, and players will enter a fight with Oleg. Defeat the Fatui Agent, and from here on, simply follow the quest navigation.
How To Deactivate The Energy Extraction Device
To deactivate the Energy Extraction Device inGenshin Impact, players must first come close to the mechanism. This will trigger a task where Travelers need to find some keys. Some Eremite camps require two keys, while some others need three.
These keys are always located inside a building with door(s). If the doors are all closed, then there must be other entrances, like through a hole in the wall or down a patched-up roof. The key is golden and floating, so it should be easy to spot.
After entering the rooms of the Eremite camps, players will get ambushed a lot, so be sure to have a proper team.
Once all the keys are collected, go back to the device and press thedeactivatebutton. This will start a timer where Travelers need to stand close to the mechanism. Three waves of Eremites will come to disrupt this process, making it even more essential to have a proper team. If players fail to deactivate the Energy Extraction in the given time, the challenge will fail.

Additionally, people will also get aGenshin ImpactachievementcalledOpen Sesame!, which grants an extra 5 Primogems. So in total, finishing the entire task will reward 95 Primogems.
