It’s been extremely cool to see the size of theHelldivers 2fandom rapidly increase in the wake of the game’s impressive launch. Naturally, this type of growth results in a ton of awesome fan creations, and in this regard, theHelldiverscommunity is just getting started. Onegamer even built an incredibly realisticHelldivers 2cosplaybased on the game’s default armor, showcasing amazing talent in the process. AsHelldivers 2continues to grow even further, no doubt there will be plenty more of these types of awesome creations in the future.
TheHelldivers 2demake can be played onitch.iofrom Mogwais, and it’s extremely impressive. TitledStratacombo, the game takes theHelldivers 2Stratagemsmini-game, where players must push their arrow keys in a set sequence without failing to retrieve a power-up, and converts it into a title of its own. Sadly, the entirety ofHelldivers 2is probably a little much for the Game Boy Color, but what has been achieved here is still impressive. Each Stratagem has been given a pixel art makeover, and there’s even a retro version of theHelldivers 2theme tune playing in the background.
The game does a great job of capturing the essence ofHelldivers 2with very limited resources. It’s interesting seeingother games recreated for the Game Boy, and whileHelldivers 2wouldn’t necessarily come to mind as a strong candidate for this treatment, it works in its own unique way. Gamers wanting to playStratacombocan do so in a browser, but the developer is even selling physical cartridges that work on the Game Boy Color. It’s a fascinating collector’s item, if nothing else.
Helldivers 2is still emerging from the other side of the huge PSN controversy which recently dampened the game’s impressive launch.Helldivers 2is still delisted in a ton of countries, and hopefully, it’s an issue that can still be resolved in the future. In the meantime, normal service has been resumed at Arrowhead Game Studios, with the developer continuing to release impressive updates forHelldivers 2to keep the game feeling fresh. So far, the studio has done a fantastic job in this regard, and long may it continue.
