AlthoughHollow Knight: Silksongskipped most major 2022 eventsand doesn’t have a firm release window established, gamers looking forward to its release remain hopeful it will arrive sometime before the end of 2023. Nearly six years have already passed since its predecessor wowed audiences with its challenging but rewarding Metroidvania gameplay.

Team Cherry first filed a Class 9 trademark for “Fearless Fox” in 2019 in Australia, which placed it in a category related to computer game software, and more recently the developer has added expanded filings to cover toys, games, and related products and topics. That flurry of activity suggests Team Cherry remains committed to “Fearless Fox,” and may even be preparing to officially announce something. WithHollow Knight: Silksongsitting pretty as one of themost anticipated games of 2023, it’s easy to suppose the term somehow relates to that game. However, it’s also possible Team Cherry is developing two games at once.

Team Cherry partnered with Fangamer to bring its indie darling to PlayStation 4 in 2019, but versions for other consoles were canceled.
