Each Tribe featured inHorizon Forbidden Westhas its own unique beliefs and culture. With so many unique perspectives fromall of the current Tribes, it results in a wide variety of side quests that easily stand apart from one another. Even if they feature similar mechanics and objectives, the story behind them makes them compelling enough to track down and complete as many as possible.

In the side quest ‘The Promontory’, Aloy investigates an area where a member of the Chorus has gone missing. This walkthrough will cover how to complete ‘The Promontory’ inHorizon Forbidden West. In order to start this quest, go to Plainsong and speak with Bree as he argues with two members of the Chorus.

Go to the Promontory

Once the side quest has started, track it and follow the waypoint to reach the base of the Promontory. Upon arriving at the destination, the side quest objective will update. Before investigating any further, players will have to eliminate the machines patrolling around. There are several Grazers and two Skydrifters.

After killing the machines, go toward the broken and bridge. On the other side of the river, examine the tracks to trigger a cutscene. Aloy realizes that the woman she is searching for, Kalae, may not have fallen at all and might still be somewhere up on the Promontory.

Go left up the trail toward the waterfall. Examine the trail debris in the water. Climb up the rock wall next to the waterfall to progress the side quest. At the top, enter the cave and emerge on the other side where there is a bridge and another waterfall. Continue going forward along the path to find more debris. Climb up the rock wall to reach the part of the bridge that isn’t broken. Keep climbing all the way to the top to reach the Promontory.

Examine the Table

At the top of the Promontory, there is a stone table and a small cave. Examine the table andthen use the Focusto find areas nearby to investigate. There is a flower near the table. After examining it, use the Focus to find a dye trail that can be tracked. Follow the trail and examine the broken branches on the ground. Highlight the next series of tracks and follow them to reach two corpses.

Kill the Stalkers

Of the two bodies, one is Kalae and the evidence suggests that she was murdered. As Aloy discovers this, she is attacked by a Stalker. Kill the Stalker and another one shows up. Kill the second Stalker and then go toward the body of the woman who killed Kalae. After looting themachines for valuable partsTake her Seed Pouch and then make the journey back to Plainsong.

Talk to Bree

Whetherby using Fast Travelor going back the old-fashioned way, find Bree and Plainsong and bring him the bad news. Aloy also delivers the other Seed Pouch and learns that the killer was an apprentice to another Utaru named Kel.

Go to Summerwind

Kel has fled Plainsong. Use the waypoint to navigate to a place called Summerwind and track Kel down. Go up the platform to find Kel sitting in the middle of a bunch of huts. Talk to Kel to trigger a cutscene where she admits her guilt. Players get a choice during this cutscene, but it ultimately does not matter. The side quest ends when the cutscene is finished, and players get their rewards.
