Players wanting to catch these venomous friends should note that they only spawn from 7 PM to 4 AM. They also will not spawn on players' islands inAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsif other players are on the island as well.

Like tarantulas, scorpions are docileunless players are holding a net. From there, if players perform any sudden movements, they will charge and chase the player until it has either been caught, or it stings the player. The best way to catch them is through a game of pseudo-red light green light after players take out their nets.

Players should initially approach while holding the A button, so that way they move more slowly and are capable of striking fast. If the scorpion is preparing to strike, players should freeze until it has relaxed. They should keep slowly approaching through this method until they are properly lined up with their net so thatthey can nab their prize.

If a player misses, the scorpion will immediately chase the player. It is still possible to catch it at this point, however, it will be difficult and requires quick reflexes. Players should run in a straight line if possible and quickly turn around to catch the scorpion once enough distance between the player and scorpion has been obtained.

As with tarantulas, players can alsomake their very on scorpion islandson random islands found through Nook Miles tickets. By catching loads of scorpions and selling them to Nook’s Cranny or Flick, players will be able to get lots of bells as the base sell price for scorpions is 8,000 bells.
