Jolyne and Stone Ocean from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

Since that isn’t new toStone Ocean, it won’t be covered. There are still eleven other Stands to discuss though. It should be noted that every Stand in this anime is either a reference to a band or song title. Some of these names were changed presumably to avoid legal blowback.

Updated on July 14, 2025, by Levana Chester-Londt:Stone Ocean Part 3 has finally come around to wrap up Joyne’s Bizarre Adventures and reunite father and daughter once again (hopefully this time, for good!) Although the series wraps up with numerous unanswered questions, it provides some incredible character developments, particularly concerning their sudden Stand upgrades.

Cry Cry Dolls from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

Although Jotaro’s Star Platinum gets a chance to shine at long last, this is not the first timeJoJo fans have witnessedthese time-manipulating abilities, and will therefore not feature on this list. Star Platinum: The World is an essential component of Pucci’s destruction and at least deserves an honorable mention.

This article covers all 38 Episodes ofJoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, now available onNetflix.

Downtown Transfer from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

25Stone Ocean

Jolyne’s Stand manifestsin the first episode. She calls it Stone Ocean in the anime but it is Stone Free in the manga. This is a song by Jimi Hendrix. Stone Free is like a big ball of string. The moreJolyneunravels, the more her body will start to come apart which has its advantages.

Besides stringing things together, she can also use her string to hear conversations from far away. It may seem like a weak Stand, but Jolyne uses it well.

Pale Snake from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

24Cry Cry Dolls

Gwessis the first villain Jolyne will fight who is also her bunkmate. Her Stand is called Cry Cry Dolls, but it is Goo Goo Dollsin the manga. This is an odd change since Goo Goo doesn’t translate as a crying sound for a baby.

Names aside, Cry Cry Dolls can make objects shrink. There is a catch to this. Gwess must be close to the individual or object. The further apart the thing and Gwess become, the more that thing will revert to its normal size.

Ermes and Smack from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

23Downtown Transfer

Johngalli Ais an expert assassin even though he is blind. His Stand is called Downtown Transfer but it is called Manhattan Transfer in the manga. This is a decent change that doesn’t destroy any integrity of the source material.

The Stand’s ability allows Johngalli A toread wind patterns. He can shoot bullets that follow wind trajectory which can then be redirected once they hit Downtown Transfer.

McQueen from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

22Pale Snake

Father Pucciis not revealed when his Stand, Pale Snake, appears. That won’t come until the last minute of episode eight when it is revealed that Father Pucci is the man behind this entire thing. In the manga, it’s called White Snake which is a cooler reference but pale does work as a replacement for white technically.

Pale Snake has three abilities it seems. It can steal memories and Stands from people. Father Pucci can command people hypnotized by his power. Finally, he can make enemies dream while being devoured by Pale Snake’s energy.

21Smack

Ermesappears in the first episode along with Jolyne. However, she disappears after this point and will not come into play again until episode six. HerStand is called Smackin place of Kiss in the manga.

Smack does work for a similar word to kiss but smooch might have been better. Her powers manifest in the form of a sticker that copies something. Once the sticker is removed that object will rejoin its original and damage it.

F.F. from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

20Freeway Thru Hell

Freeway Thru Hell is the Stand that belongs toMcQueen. He also appears in episode six as Ermes’ villain. In the manga, it is called Highway to Hell which is both an album and a song from the band AC/DC.

Whenever McQueen damages himself, the person he is in contact with will also suffer damage. For example, when he tries to hang himself, Ermes starts to choke. This happens even when he does something as simple as cutting his wrists.

Mary Lynn Manson from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

19Foo Fighters

Episode seven and eight is about Jolyne and Ermes battling a water Stand in the marshes. It is later revealed that this Stand wants to refer to themselves as F.F. In the manga, this is short forFoo Fighters,in reference to the band. Once they join Jolyne as an ally, they use F.F. in the manga even after establishing the full name of Foo Fighters.

The anime version doesn’t refer to itself other than just F.F. It can copy itself in water, regenerate its body, and even possess people that ingest it.

Emporio from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

18Mary Lynn Manson

Miraschonis the next villain that appears in episode nine. Her Stand is called Mary Lynn Manson which is just a breakdown of the singer, Marilyn Manson. It seems like the anime adapters in the West weren’t even trying with that name.

Weather Forecast from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean

Mary Lynn Manson is a debt collector. When Miraschon makes a bet with someone, established rules, and someone agrees, the game is on.If any rules are broken then Mary Lynn Manson will appear to collect its payment whether that is with cash, organs, or anything in-between.

17Burning Down

Burning Down is the name ofEmporio’sStand. In the manga, it is fully referred to as Burning Down the House which is a song by Talking Heads. Shortening it up for the anime isn’t that egregious of a change.

This Stand gives Emporio the ability to create portals and walk between walls. He sort of has a pocket, ghost-like dimension all to himself. Sadly, Emporio is also like half of a ghost as he cannot eat properly.

16Weather Forecast

Weather Forecastis both the name of the character and Stand in the anime. He does have a real name, however, it remains unknown because he is suffering from amnesia. In the manga, he is called Weather Report which is yet another band reference. Weather Forecast can manifest clouds. These clouds have many uses from creating space-like suits to causing the weather to fall be it natural like rain or unnatural like frogs.

Following Weather Forecast’s brutal death, Jolyne giftedEmporiowith his Stand ability, which the young man only activated after jumping to an alternate timeline. Using his newfound weather manipulation skills combinedwith his extraordinary intelligence, Emporio singlehandedly counters (arguably) the most powerful Stand in existence. He uses Weather Report to cripple the “invincible” Father Pucci with Oxygen toxicity and smashes his skull in, ending the nightmare once and for all.
