The officialLast of Uspodcast will premiere on June 9 on Apple.com but curious fans can listen to an audio teaser trailer via the link below. The podcast will likely appear on other platforms as well but there’s no confirmation of this at the time of this writing. It’s also unclear how often the podcast will put out new episodes.
However, each installment will feature several members fromThe Last of Usdevelopment team. Neil Drunkmann will obviously be an important part when it comes to developer insight, but the voice actors behindJoel and Ellie, Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, will also discuss their experiences making the game.
When discussingThe Last of Us Part 2, the podcast will likely avoid plot information until the game officially releases on June 19th. Naughty Dog has already had to deal with and takeprecautions againstLast of Us Part 2spoilers, so it doesn’t make much sense for the podcast to talk about story elements beyond what’s available in trailers and gameplay demos.
However, since the podcast releases so close toThe Last of Us Part 2’s launch, there’s a chance that it may discuss the events of the game in later installments. ThePart 1story recap probably only exists to fill time while waiting forThe Last of Us Part 2to launch. If this is the case, fans will want to be sure to finishThe Last of Us Part 2before diving into later episodes of the podcast — though it will surely warn of any spoilers before discussing them.
PlayStation will host aState of Play stream focused onThe Last of Us Part 2on May 27th, so anyone interested in learning more about the game while waiting for the podcast to come out can tune into that. It’ll be available on PlayStation’s Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch channels.
The Last of Us Part 2will release on June 19 for the PlayStation 4.
