With the holiday season drawing closer by the day, fans are more eager than ever to get their hands on the future of Microsoft’s gaming content, with theXbox Series XandSlaunching on November 10. Both consoles will be a huge step up from what players are accustomed to, offeringenhanced visuals, unparalleled speed, and some amazing new games.
In accordance with the upcoming release of Microsoft’s newest hardware, the publisher has released a new walkthrough video that offers future players a meaty look at theSeries X’s most crucial features. Through the 15 minute clip, Xbox shows off the console’s UI, the unparalleled quickness of its heavily-touted SSD, and some games running on the hardware.

Presented by Xbox Community PM Malik Prince and Principal Program Manager Harrison Hoffman, the pair don’t waste much time showing off exactly what makes the Series X so uniquely special. Hoffman reveals that accessibility and simplicity have been the key in terms of UI, with Xbox looking to make navigating between games a seamless experience. Meanwhile, the pair launchGears 5,using the game to show off the visual enhancements achievable with the next-generation console. According to Hoffman, the game runs the Ultra settings available onGears 5’sPC port, with Prince reminding fans that the game will offer 120 FPS in Versus multiplayer.
Hoffman then switches toDirt 5,taking the opportunity to once again show off the Quick Resume feature. The move between games takes seconds, with the pair highlighting how Quick Resume allows players to leave games suspended over multiple days and still pick up right where they left off. Hoffman then switches toSubnautica,showing how backward compatibility games will still feature enhancements when played on the Series X, noting how even an original Xbox title likeFusion Frenzywill feature Auto HDR. The controller is also put on display, with the pair revealing it’s been made slightly smaller and has other minuscule adjustments to ensure it offers the best gaming experience.
Another interesting tidbit is the redesigned Xbox app for Android and iOS, which will be the player’s Xbox hub. It allows them to share captured gameplay, search for games, and even play some titles throughRemote Play. It will also give players the opportunity to set up their wifi and input other information as the console’s downloading its day one update.
Finally, Hoffman shows off a1TB Seagate storage expansion drive, which will replicate the console’s custom SSD and provide the same performance when playing games. It’s a relatively small piece of hardware that slots neatly into the back of the console. All in all, it seems the Xbox Series X is shaping up to be one of Microsoft’s most innovative pieces of gaming hardware yet.
