Upcoming tactical-RPGMarvel’s Midnight Sunsis giving fans a closer look at the Hunter, an all-new hero created for the game. Developed by Firaxis, the company behind the successful and critically acclaimedXCOMreboots,Marvel’s Midnight Sunsbrings a similar level of strategic gameplay while allowing players to control their favoriteMarvel heroes including Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, and plenty more. The Hunter marks the only character that has been made solely for the game, and in a recent video posted to the game’s YouTube channel, well-known YouTuber Comicstorian takes fans through what makes the Hunter a different kind of hero.
The first thing to note with the Hunter is that they will be fully customizable inMarvel’s Midnight Suns, with the player being able to change their gender, hairstyle, and other things. This essentially makes the Hunter a hero that the player creates, whether they want to insert themselves as a crime-fighting Marvel superhero or make the most wacky character possible. Apart from customizing the Hunter’s looks, players will also be able to change theirabilities inMarvel’s Midnight Suns, again personalizing their hero how they see fit.

One of the few things it seems players won’t be able to change is the Hunter’s backstory and how they fit into the lore ofMarvel’s Midnight Suns. In the game, the Hunter is the child of Lilith, the mother of all demons and the primary antagonist ofMarvel’s Midnight Suns. Unlike the Hunter, Lilith does have a background in Marvel comics, as she first appeared in a couple ofGhost Riderissues back in the early 1990s.
Lilith’s main goal inMarvel’s Midnight Sunsis to release Cthon, an incredibly powerful demon who some fans may already be familiar with as he created the Darkhold, the book used byWanda inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Previously in human history, Lilith and the Hunter fought, with both of them ending up dead. But with the technology of Hydra, Lilith was resurrected alongside her child, leading to the conflict seen inMarvel’s Midnight Suns.
This time, the Hunter may have to deal with a more powerful version of Lilith, but they won’t be doing so alone, as dozens of iconic Marvel heroes will be joining them. For anyone wanting to learn more about the Hunter, themost recent trailer forMarvel’s Midnight Sunsis all about them, including a showcase of what their customizable abilities look like.
