It’s difficult to talk about Hello Games' universe exploration titleNo Man’s Skywithout mentioning how far things have come since its disastrous launch back in 2016. Despite the numerous problems it had with many unhappy with the content of the game not matching what was promised,NMShas finally become highly praised on the likes of Steam. One of the most intriguing aspects of the game is its building mechanics. While many are want to create science fiction settlements and bases, one user has decided to create something more fantasy-based.
Posting a number of screenshots to theNo Man’s SkySubreddit recently, user DuncanAndFriends has shown their skills in crafting not only an impressively large structure, but one that reflects another beloved game. Specifically, the fan has recreated the city of Vivec fromThe Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. The images show just how much work has been put into the creation. In fact, the user says in the thread’s title that they’ve been unable to upload it to theNMSservers as it exceeds the base size limit.

For those who are not too familiar with this 2002 open world fantasy game,Vivec is one of the most breathtaking locations inMorrowind. The city contains nine cantons, which are areas of the city that are joined by bridges. The city was named after the Dunmer god, Vivec. DuncanAndFriends' recreation has an impressive amount of detail in the build, really capturing the original. They even went to the trouble of adding the floating rock above the city, known as the Ministry of Truth.

The Elder Scrolls 3is one of the most celebrated games in the whole series, although nearly twenty years on, it has aged somewhat. Many feel thatnow is a good time for Bethesda to remakeMorrowindfor the modern gaming era. Given that Bethesda are not really known for doing remakes, and they’re busy working onStarfieldand possiblyElder Scrolls 6, it’s difficult to say whether a remaster will ever happen.
It is definitely interesting to see these two disparate games come together, with one being very much a fantasy title, while the other being deep sci-fi.No Man’s Skymay have originally bitten off more than it could chew, but the studio has worked tirelessly to bring the game up to the standard it promised before it was launched. DuncanAndFriends’sMorrowindcreation also shows just what is possible in the space exploration title’s universe.
