Interested parties will need to register a GOG account, after which they can either visitHero of the Kingdom 2’s profile and click the “Go to Giveaway” button or find the giveaway on GOG’s front page. Then it’s just a matter of clicking the big green “Add to library” button. That’s all that’s necessary. The game will be available to download from users' GOG game library.
As noted, the giveaway is only available for a limited time. If PC gamers miss the availability window, then the price will jump back up to $7.99. The giveaway is currently scheduled to end Thursday, August 31, around 6:00 AM PT/9:00 AM ET. That gives PC gamers just short of two days to claim their free game, after which it will be unlocked permanently.
