Celebi has been known as one of the most mysterious legendary Pokemon to exist. Although this Psychic/Grass-type pocket monster was introduced with the second generation ofPokemon, which came about with the release ofPokemon GoldandPokemon Silver, western players were never able to capture it. They could still visit the Ilex Forest shrine in the Johto region, butCelebi could not be encounteredunless an exploit tool was used, like a GameShark.

To this day, the Ilex Forest remains a tranquil yet mysteriousarea in the original release ofPokemon GoldandSilverthat fans continue to be drawn to. For example, aPokemonfan posted images of their own life-sized recreation of the Ilex Forest shrine. They even managed to capture a certain Pokemon inPokemon GOat the shrine itself.

A Redditor that goes by ptwob462 shared the images of their very own Ilex Forest shrine, which looks to be made solely of wood and is indeed a faithful recreation. Small plants and flowers are twirling their way up the legs of the shrine that definitely gives off vibes of the in-game forest. There is even a small design on the tiny door of the shrine that resembles a Poke Ball.

It turns out that ptwob462 actually created the Ilex Shrine about one year ago, but they wanted to share it now due to them actuallycatching a Celebi inPokemon GOat the shrine itself. Considering how Celebi and the Ilex Shrine are linked, it’s rather absurd how the player managed to pull off such a feat.

It’s worth noting that the Ilex Shrine in the Johto region is meant to ward off evil spirits and give good luck to those who encounter it. Maybe the Celebi that the player found inPokemon GOwas drawn to the power of their hand-made Ilex Shrine. Either way, the recreation is truly incredible and shows how farPokemonfans will go to bring their favorite series to life.

AnotherPokemonfan recently showed off their LEGO creations of the final evolutions of all threeSinnoh region starter Pokemon: Torterra, Infernape, and Empoleon. These are the same starter Pokemon that players might end up with, depending on which starter they choose at the start of thePokemon DiamondandPearlremakes.

Pokemon GOis now free-to-play on Apple and Android mobile devices.
