Red Dead Redemption 2is arguably one of gaming’s biggest accomplishments, with Rockstar’s western game featuring a massive world full ofincredible little details. However, exploits do still have a tendency to pop up, regardless of how realistic the experience is intended to be. Now,Red Dead Redemption 2players are using one gross exploit to avoid taking fall damage.
The technique, aptly called “vomit roping,” allows players to puke their way down mountains, in what is certainly one ofRed Dead’sgrossest methods of travel. With the proper timing, players can make themselves puke as they begin falling down mountains, which creates a strange rope-like stream of vomit that, somehow, keeps them from taking any fall damage.

The entire thing is kind of nasty to watch. Puking has been in Rockstar games for quite some time, but the idea of using that stream of puke to Spider-Man one’s way down a mountain is disturbing, to say the least. Between vomit rope swings andvicious two-headed skeletons,Red Dead Onlineis starting to become a pretty strange place.
Of course, Rockstar will likely patch this exploit as it becomes more widespread.Red Deadis meant to be an immersive simulationinto the wild west, and vomit ropes seem to go directly against that immersion. It’s only a matter of time before Rockstar pulls the plug on the vomit-rope fun, so any interested players may want to get their puking down cliffs in now.
Puke aside,Red Dead Onlinehas received a decent amount of content since it initially launched. Rockstar has added plenty for players to do, includingbecoming moonshinersfairly recently. While the game has had its fair share of exploits and hacks, it’s fair to say that it could, one day, rival the amount of contentGTA Onlinehas, though that game has maintained a sizeable lead in terms of sales and player base.
Vomit roping is certainly a strange exploit, but it doesn’t seem like the type of thing that Rockstar would hand out a ban for, so players are free to puke to their heart’s content for now. There’s no telling when the exploit will vanish, but for now, players have a new way to navigate some ofRed Dead’sharsher terrain.
