Pretty much right when Capcom revealedResident Evil Villageto the public, it confirmed that the game would have some new enemy types for franchise fans to contend with. Gone were the zombies from the originalResident Evilgames or the lumbering black goo monsters fromResident Evil 7, and in their place were a variety of mythical creatures, like werewolves. There are a variety of different werewolves that players encounter inResident Evil Village, but one in particular stands out from the pack.

At a certain point inResident Evil Village’s story, players will encounter an especially large and powerful creature that looks more like a classic werewolf from films. These beast is known as Varcolac Alfa, and it is incredibly dangerous. The game implies that players should run from the Varcolac Alfa, and that is certainly an option if players want to get away from the monster without using up all their ammo.

However, someResident Evil Villageplayers may be curious about whether or not they can kill the beast instead. For those curious, yes, it is possible to kill theVarcolac Alfa werewolf inResident Evil Village, and here is how to do it.

Please note that this article will have some MINOR SPOILERS forResident Evil Village.

Finding and Killing the Varcolac Alfa

Shortly afterResident Evil Villageplayers defeatMother Miranda’s Lord Moreau, they will find themselves returning to the titular village. A cutscene will play that introduces the werewolf creature, aka the Varcolac Alfa. As previously stated, one option is forResident Evil Villageplayers to simply turn tail and run to their next objective, which is something that they may want to consider if it’s their first playthrough and they’re low on supplies.

If players are properly equipped, the trick to killing the Varcolac Alfa is the same as killing any ofResident Evil Village’s other monsters. All players need to do is shoot it until it’s dead, while simultaneously avoiding its attacks and the Lycans that spawn in the area. This is easier said than done depending on the situation, but it should be very simple on a second playthrough if players have upgraded guns at their disposal.

Even on their first playthrough, though,Resident Evil Villageplayers shouldn’t havetootough of a time defeating the Varcolac Alfa. At this point in the game, they should have the grenade launcher handy, and assuming they have any rounds for it left after the Moreau boss fight, they should be able to give the Varcolac Alfa a run for its money.

When the Varcolac Alfa werewolf is dead, players will unlock theResident Evil Villagetrophy called “Leader of the Pack.”
