Since thePerfect Darkreboot was announced, there hasn’t been a whole lot of info about the game released. While it hasn’t been confirmed yet, it appears that there are some clues surfacing on the web that the newPerfect Darkgame could end up offering a Game as a Service approach.

While most fans would agree thatPerfect Darkneeds a new game, it hasn’t been clear just what the approach of the upcoming game might be since it was announced in 2020. Now, a year and a half after the game was officially unveiled, it’s possible the format of the upcoming title can be hinted at thanks to taking a look at the resume of the title’s lead producer.

Twitter user Idle Sloth pointed out that the LinkedIn profile ofPerfect Dark’s lead producer, Corey Butler, could be a very big sign that when the game arrives, it will offer at least some kind of GaaS elements. It turns out that while Butler has an extensive background in the video game industry, quite a few of the titles he’s worked on are also Game as a Service titles.

In fact, before Butler came on board thePerfect Darkteam in January, he spent a little over the last two yearsworking on theMarvel’s Avengersteam. Before joining Crystal Dymanics, he spent eight months at QC Games and while he didn’t specifically lay out what he did at that studio he spent quite a few years with BioWare before making that move. At the top of the list with that company was his work on bothAnthemandStar Wars: The Old Republic.

Almost all the games that Butler has worked on have had at least some sort of aspect of GaaS, and it seems odd that Crystal Dynamics would name him the lead producer ofPerfect Darkif the company didn’t wantto go in that direction. Of course, for now just what the format for the upcoming title is going to be is entirely a mystery.

The reaction to Idle Sloth’s tweet was a mix of hoping thatPerfect Darkisn’t going to go in that direction while other followers voiced skepticism that Butler being attached definitively proved that this new title would be a Game as a Service. It is possible that these rumors starting to circulate the web could spur Crystal Dynamics or lead developer The Initiative to finally shed a bit of light on what the project is going to look like.
