Many collaborations result in time-limited quests and cosmetic items, while others take it to the next level with the release of themed weapons and map locations. So, while some of these projects are a one-time thing, such as theCreed Cupback in 2023, others have multiple waves with recurring events every now and then. Out of all thecollaborations inFortnite,Star Warsmight be the franchise that returns more often.
With May the Fourth around the corner, many fans were already expecting some sort of celebration inFortnite, as it has become an annual tradition at this point. On April 15,Fortniterevealed the upcomingcollaboration withStar Warson May 3. The announcement was made on several official profiles, such as the one dedicated toFortniteBattle Royale,LEGO Fortnite, and Fortnite Festival, so players can expect content for each of these game modes.
When Does the Fortnite Star Wars Event Start?
Several game modes were introduced toFortnitesince the lastStar Warsevent, so it would make sense for this new collaboration to include content for each of the main modes in the game. The Fortnite Festival’s teaser mentioned the addition of the Cantina Band as a jam track. Leaks also suggest that a MythicWookie Bowcaster weaponcould be coming, a new Leia skin or variant will be added, and Lightsabers and Force abilities seen in the Find the Force event will be making a return this year.
The event starts on May 3, which coincides with the end of theFortnitexAvatar: The Last Airbenderevent. Since the Elements Pass was made available with theAvatarcollab, players shouldn’t expect theStar Warsevent to have the same magnitude as previous events. Nevertheless, it will still be great fun for most players, even if they’re notStar Warsfans, and gamers will have plenty of content to entertain themselves with until the end of Chapter 5 Season 2.
