Amethystis more than just a pretty purple stone inStardew Valley. Amethyst can be used for many different things, including increasing some of your weapons' abilities, helping you to complete Community Center Bundles, and much more. It might not be worth as much as a Diamond, but it is certainly a useful addition to your collection.

There are a multitude of locations where Amethyst can be found, and it’s in more than just Gem Nodes. It is relatively common, but won’t necessarily jump out at you the minute youstep into the MinesinStardew Valley. If you’re struggling to find this gem, here’s what you can do.

How to Get Amethyst in Stardew Valley

Amethyst can be found inmultiple locationsfrom different sources. This includes:

Out of all the available methods, the easiest ones will be in the Mines, through Amethyst and Gem Nodes. These can also be foundin Skull Cavern and the Quarry,butthe Mineswill be the most easily accessible if you are still towards the beginning of the game. Skull Cavern will unlock once you have arrived in Calico Desert, and you’ll be able to visit the Quarry after completing theCraft Room Bundle in the Community Centeror paying for it at JojaMart.

If you’re looking to pick some up outside of mining, the best option is throughFishing Chests or Panning.Panning becomes available after completing theFish Tank Bundlesor purchasing Panning from JojaMart,allowing you to gather ore found in water. You’ll notice a few sparkling spots in the water where you’re able to do some Panning, and there’s a possibility to pick up some Amethyst this way.

If you’ve unlocked theRemixed version of the Community Centerby starting a new game, you can useAmethystto complete theTreasure Hunter’s Bundleand get you closer to restoring the center.

Amethyst is alsooften used in many quests,so saving some in your pockets will be useful when these pop up. If you’ve reachedtheVolcano Dungeon on Ginger Islandas well, once you reach level 10, you’ll be able to visit theVolcano Forge.Here, you can provideone Amethyst and 10 Cinder Shardsto increase the knockback of a weapon of your choosing. These are the best uses for Amethyst, outside of just selling it for a small profit or gifting it to a villager.
