Summary
A new Funko Pop based on VASCO, one ofStarfield’s characters, is due out in a matter of months. Alongsidethe variousStarfieldpre-order bonuses, this only adds to the amount of promotional merchandise for the game.
Starfieldis one of the most hyped games of 2023, boasting a massive open-world space setting, buildable spaceships, and much more, all while in control of a silent and customizable protagonist. Not to mention it is Bethesda’s very first original IP to be created in close to thirty years. As such,Starfieldhas been promoted heavily in the months leading up to its release. But even with just roughly a week to go before that inevitable date, it seems Bethesda intends to keep the merch coming.

This new Funko Pop is modeled after VASCO, a mostly peaceful robotic companion fromStarfieldwho sports limited emotional capabilities, was built by Lunar Robotics, and owned by Constellation. In true Funko Pop fashion, its design has been heavily softened up and chibified, lacking the worn-off paint of its in-game counterpart in favor of some more coloration. The new promotional toy is currently in production, although units are expected to be limited, and players should not expect to see it drop until February 2024 at the earliest. Pre-orders are currently open, albeit exclusively through the Xbox Gear Shop, and the figurine is currently priced at $17.99 / £14.95.
Ifthe amount of Funko Pops that end up in landfillsis any indication, then the craze surrounding them might be dying down, and this particular promotion might not go over as well. Still, given how much anticipation there is forStarfield’s launch, and the impressively detailed design of the toy itself, there is a chance of this particular figurine doing well on the market, especially since the exclusivity deal means it’ll mainly be marketed to those specific fans.
Regardless of one’s opinions, it’s clear that these Funko Pop figurines are just a means to further promote Bethesda’s biggest new game, something that has been done via many forms of merchandise and evenan Imagine Dragons song written specifically forStarfield. Fortunately for the most hyped players in the community, they will not have to wait very long for the game to finally come out.
Starfieldlaunches on PC and Xbox Series X/S on June 19, 2025.
