Ever since season 4 of the hit Netflix seriesStranger Thingscame out in the summer of 2022, fans have been impatiently waiting for season 5. Those nine episodes delivered a mix of scares, emotions, and battle scenes. From Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) going up against Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) to Jim Hopper (David Harbour) being stuck in a Russian prison, there was no shortage of memorable scenes. Fans got everything that they wanted from season 4: love, friendship, and an even fuller picture of the fascinating and creepy town of Hawkins, Indiana.
WhileStranger Thingsseason 5 has been pushed back, it’s hard not to be curious about what the new episodes will be like. However, when the show returned for season 4, there was one problem, and season 5 will make it even more obvious. AlthoughStranger Thingsis one of the most well-crafted and popular shows of the past few years, this is still something that is hard to ignore.

Stranger Things Season 5 Has No Release Date
There are many questions about the fifth season ofStranger Things, likewhether Kali/Eight will come back. The storyline remains a mystery as, of course, nothing is being shared. As of right now, however, there is no release date forStranger Thingsseason 5. This is because of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that are currently ongoing.
Several projects have been affected, with thewriters strike delaying the Community movie. The strikes also mean that new episodes ofStranger Thingswon’t be available for a long time. The show can’t film until both strikes have been resolved.
On May 6th, 2023, the Duffer Brothers tweeted from their official account and updated fans on the situation. They wrote, “Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then – over and out. #wgastrong.”
Everyone is curious to see what the new episodes of the popular series will look like. Season 4 featured a perfect blend of heartwrenching moments and epic battles. Thescary villainStranger Thingsvillain Vecnawas introduced. Eleven learned more about her background. There were also some hilarious scenes featuring the new character Argyle (Eduardo Franco). Given how the stakes felt even higher in season 4, it’s clear thatStranger Thingsseason 5 won’t be disappointing.
In early June 2023, Finn Wolfhard toldEntertainment Weekly, “We’re pressing pause until the strike is figured out. I think I’m really antsy to start because I’m a fan of the show first and foremost. So I’m excited, obviously, to just see where every character’s journey takes them and everything like that.” The actor also mentioned that filmingStranger Thingsseason 5 will be emotional. He said, “I’ve tried not to think about it or process how sad it’s gonna be, obviously, but it’s gonna be a graduation of sorts for all of us, for the cast and a lot of the crew, too.”
The Stranger Things Kids Will Be Too Old
Stranger Thingshad a problem in season 4: the actors have been growing up fast, and in some instances, they already looked older than their characters.Stranger Thingsseason 5 will make this season 4 problem even more obvious because by the time the new episodes come out, it could be a year from now or even more. Finn Wolfhard, for example, is 20 years old, and Sadie Sink is 21 years old. It’s going to get harder and harder for the actors to look like the teenagers that they’re supposed to be playing.
At theend of season 4 ofStranger Things, the characters are preparing for a wild battle. Their priority is saving Hawkins and it’s likely that Eleven will lead the charge. While it’s good that there will be aStranger Thingsseason 5 time jump, how much time? Will it be enough to fix this problem?
The time jump will have to serve two purposes: make the characters look as old as the actors and also wrap up the story properly. WhileStranger Thingsis ultimately a fairly dark show, it has heartwarming elements and delves into the friendship between the main characters. The series finale needs to be a fairly peaceful one. Otherwise, it will feel unsatisfying.
Perhaps with clothing, hairstyles, and makeup, the cast won’t look too old, andStranger Thingsseason 5 will have resolved this problem. Until the new episodes are released,Stranger Thingsfan theories about the Upside Downand other elements will prevail. Everyone is curious to see what happens next in the evil and charming world of Hawkins.
