8IG-11’s Statue

After a heroic sacrifice to protect Grogu inThe MandalorianSeason 1, IG-11 was commended with a statue in his honor, to proudly display his service to Nevarro. However, this statue was made of IG-11’s parts, the very parts that Din Djarin used to try and rebuild IG-11.

In rebuilding the assassin droid, IG-11 returned to his default programming and had to be killed. However, it seems that IG-11’s story is not over. His parts have not been re-added to the statue, meaning that there’s still a purpose for IG-11 somewhere.

6Zeb Orrelios

This character is one of the most exciting faces makes an appearance in this episode ofThe Mandalorian, as none other than Zeb Orrelios makes his live-action debut. Zeb appears to be a CGI creation, but he looks fantastic. Zeb is a Lasat who debuts inStar Wars:Rebelsas one of the central characters.

It’s great to see Zeb after the fall of the Empire, and it shows that he is stillfighting for a better futureeven though the Empire is defeated. Zeb has a great character arc inStar Wars:Rebels, and considering Ahsoka is getting a Disney Plus series, perhaps audiences will see Zeb once again.

5A Game Of Sabacc

Although subtle, a line from the Pirate King Gorian Shard mentions Sabacc, a famed card game in the galaxy far, far away. Sabacc isStar Wars’ version of poker and is usually played with high stakes. It’s always great to hear the language ofStar Warsused by different characters across multiple forms of media.

Although Gorian Shard doesn’t settle his grievances with a game of Sabacc, it is still nice to see the game referenced. There are other card games fromStar Warsin need of a reference, such as Pazaak, a famed game that players could play inStar Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

4Moff Gideon’s Lambda Shuttle

Lambda shuttles are never a good sign inStar Wars, as they usually always hold someone of great importance in the Empire. As soon as Captain Carson comes across an abandoned and broken Lambda shuttle, audiences should have known that trouble was brewing. When they discover that it’s Moff Gideon’s prison transport shuttle, things become dire.

There are many questions to be answered in the coming episodes about Moff Gideon, and why he was rescued from the Lambda shuttle. Perhaps a rogue group of Mandalorians see him as a leader, or they were framed. Either way, Moff Gideon’s presence lurks in the galaxy, and perhaps soon he shall reveal himself and his cunning plans. Maybe Gideon is looking for revenge againstBo-Katan and the Mandalorians.

3Gorian Shard’s City Bombardment

The Pirate King will not be trifled with, and Gorian Shard makes it clear just why he has such a brutal title. After the attack on hispirates on Nevarro, Gorian Shard decides that this planet will be the perfect location for his new base. To get the civilians to leave and surrender, he begins a city-wide bombardment.

This aerial bombardment is a tactic familiar to the Empire. It shows that either Gorian Shard is just as ruthless, or he has taken inspiration from the Empire itself, and its most brutal tacticians like the elusive andmysterious Grand Admiral Thrawn.

2Adelphi Base

The Adelphi Base has been mentioned in previous seasons ofThe Mandalorian, but it finally appears in this episode. The Adelphi Base is the home ofNew Republic fighters, a planet where they can relax, and a station for them to house their X-Wings and Y-Wings until duty calls to them.

It’s a lovely location, and it’s no surprise that people would join the New Republic if one of their bases is on a lovely tropical resort island, where they can enjoy playing games and drinking until a call to action beckons their duty.

1Dave Filoni’s Trapper Wolf Cameo

On the Adelphi Base, audiences might spot a familiar face. Although this cameo is not as obvious as Zeb, it’s certainly there for fans with keen eyes and a knowledge ofStar Wars. Dave Filoni can be seen in the background, returning as his canon character Trapper Wolf. Alongside him is an iconic cowboy hat.
