Summary

For everyWWE 2Kgame, each of the superstars are given a specific rating which essentially highlights how strong they are as an opponent, and the way these ratings are judged is by looking back on the wrestler’s past year to see how well they’ve been doing overall. Most of the time, wrestlers will see their rating gradually rise higher and higher with each year, but this hasn’t always been the case, with some having a much lower rank than they ever have, sometimes undeservedly so, in the eyes of many fans.

There are plenty of superstars inWWE 2K24who have skyrocketed in their overall rating, with the likes ofRhea Ripleyand Jey Uso being prime examples, but not all wrestlers have received the same amount of love, despite the fact that they probably should have. Today, this list is going to take a look at thewrestlers inWWE 2K24who are underrated, and why players should still try them out, even if their rating is a little lower than expected.

Zelda Vega

7Zelina Vega

Rating: 74

Considering the incredible year Zelina Vega’s had in WWE, it’s a shame that her rating is so low, especially when taking into consideration justhow unique and athletic she is in the ring, something which is actually very well replicated in the game itself. Zelina possesses a nice mixture of high-flying moves and basic grapples which make her a pretty formidable opponent, especially because of how fast she also is, being able to run circles around her opponents with little to no effort.

Some of her most explosive moves include the Code Red, which is a breathtaking technique to behold because of how flashy it looks, and her Moonsault, which is one of the best in the business. She may no longer officially be the Queen of the Ring, but players shouldn’t overlook Zelina Vega when choosing their character as she’s still an incredibly fun wrestler to play, thanks to her wide array of unique moves and techniques.

AJ Styles with a hoodie on

6AJ Styles

Rating: 85

There was once a time in theWWE 2Kseries where the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles, was ranked among one of the highest wrestlers in the game, but, unfortunately, he’s slowly been slipping down the pecking order in the last few years. Of course, with so many people shooting to stardom in recent years, it only makes sense that a veteran like AJ would need to make some room for these newcomers, but this, unfortunately, comes at the cost of him being greatly underappreciated, despite how incredible he is in the game.

Not only does AJ come equipped with all of his classic lightning-fast combo moves, which he picked up during his time wrestling in Japan, but he’s also got his two most iconic finishers; The Phenomenal Forearm and Styles Clash. Both of these moves are an absolute joy to watch in action, and when seeing howdevastating he can be in the ring, it’s hard not to wonder why his score wasn’t just a few points higher than it actually is.

Braun Strowman

5Braun Strowman

Rating: 82

Admittedly, Braun hasn’t really been around very much over the last year due to injuries, so dropping him down a few points would make sense, but it feels like he really got the short end of the straw this time, despite him being one of the most fearsome giants in wrestling. Heavy wrestlers have always been dominant inWWE 2Kgames, so long as they can stay on their feet, that is, and Braun is certainly no exception to this trend. If a player manages to pull off a grab when playing as Braun, their opponent will be in for one hell of a ride, being thrown all across the ring until their stamina bar is all but depleted.

Braun Strowman is incredible for clearing out the ring in a Triple Threat oreven a Royal Rumble match, and though he can struggle in one-on-one matches because of how slow he is, Braun is still a ton of fun to play around with, primarily because of how devastating every one of his attacks are. Not to mention, Braun Strowman also has an incredibly badass and epic entrance to walk out to, so picking him up and giving him a go is at least worth a shot, despite his fairly low rating.

Chad gable

Rating: 80

On the surface, the fun and plucky leader of the Alpha Academy can seem less than intimidating, but in the ring, Chad Gable is a true force to be reckoned with, having once been an Olympic wrestling athlete before appearing in WWE. The truth is, though, Chad’s goofy gimmick often results in him gaining a fairly low rating despite how strong he actually is, especially when taking into account his biggest accomplishments, such as being one of the few people to hold his ownagainst the magnificent Gunther.

This is actually the seventh game that Chad’s making an appearance in, and while a lot of people suspected that this might be the year that he really gets the boost he deserves, that unfortunately hasn’t been the case this time around. Still, he’s a fantastic grappler whose powerful grabs and submissions can easily turn the tide of a match in the player’s favor so, while he might seem weak, he’s very effective when in the right hands.

Santos Escobar

3Santos Escobar

Rating: 78

After briefly being taken under the wing ofthe legendary Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar was touted as being the next big luchador wrestler in WWE, and his excellent in-ring skills certainly prove that he’s definitely more than capable of earning this prestigious title. Because Escobar is still relatively new on the scene though, 2K have given him a pretty low score, even though he is undoubtedly one of the best luchador wrestlers on the entire roster, having mastered plenty of flashy techniques like the Dudebuster, and the absolutely devastating Thrill of the Hunt.

As a result, Santos is absurdly fast on his feet in the game, being able to pull off a suplex or clothesline incredibly quickly, making him an excellent character for getting in and causing as much chaos as possible before waiting for the opportunity to score a pin. His rating unfortunately puts him pretty far down the character list, but anyone who wants a stylish character who can pull off a plethora of high-risk jaw-dropping moves should look no further than this immensely talented luchador.

Eddie Guerrero ‘97

2Eddie Guerrero ‘97

Rating: 76

Eddie Guerrero is an iconic within the world of wrestling, having been involved in some amazing matches and more than a few heated feuds with his on and off again rival, Rey Mysterio. This 1997 iteration of Eddie is based on his time defending the United States title, and the few months following when hecompeted in a variety of matchesagainst the likes of Chris Jericho, and perhaps his most well-known match ever against Rey Mysterio at Halloween Havoc.

Needless to say, this year was one of the highlights of Eddie’s celebrated career, so the rating attached to it can seem a little odd, especially considering the caliber of athlete that he went up against. Because there is another version of Eddie in the game, it means that this iteration has been stripped of a few of his moves, but his speed and athleticism still makes him a ton of fun to play, so he really doesn’t deserve to be overshadowed by his competition.

Austin Theory

1Austin Theory

Rating: 72

Believe it or not, Austin Theory actually had a rating of 82 inWWE 2K23, which led to a lot more people playing him online and paying more attention to him in general, but for some reason, he’s received a drastic reduction inWWE 2K24. He may have had a pretty baffling year, going from beating John Cena at Wrestlemania to forming a tag-team with Grayson Waller, but that shouldn’t imply that he isn’t still an incredible wrestler who’s capable of pulling out some outstanding moves in-game thanks to his strength and agility.

Theory is essentially a jack of all trades, balancing speed while still being able to grab even the biggest of opponents, especially withhis flashy finisher; A-Town Down. He may be a little more sluggish than his previous iteration, but this is ultimately a small stain on an otherwise great superstar who sadly won’t get quite as much attention this time around because of his rating, even though he really should.
