The Witcher 3: Wild Huntstill reigns as king in terms of open-world, fantasy RPGs. Its creative and well-developed cast of characters continues to inspire artists, especially in terms of cosplaying. But one particular fan of the series has added a unique twist to her design. She’s cosplayingThe Witcher 3’s Ciri, but in full battle armor.
The cosplay comes from Reddit user carleybombshell, who’s created cosplays for a variety of different mediums and characters. Though it is certainly not the first cosplay of Ciri to be made, it is one of thefirstWitcher 3cosplays to use an alternate design. The armor is one of many ideas developed by Klaus Wittman in his artwork titled “Ciri Redesign.” Wittman’s art features four different concepts of Ciri inThe Witcher 3, but with alternate outfits. The most popular of his designs is by far the design that features plated armor and chain mail, which is what Carley recreated in her cosplay. Though Ciri has her own alternate outfit in-game, it does not feature any heavy form of armor, which is what makes this particular cosplay so inviting to fans.

Overall, the design is an amazing mix of the in-game model of Ciri, and the original design by Wittman. The combination of the plating and leather gives Ciri a new-look while still beingauthentic to the originalWitcher 3design. The cosplay still features the iconic scar beneath her eye and the ashen-grey hair. But her hairstyle has been altered to match the wind-swept concept that’s featured in the artwork, which Reddit users love. Fans of the series are in love with the end result. It’s a refreshing take on a main character, especially one that is cosplayed so often. And the detail and accuracy of the design is incredibly well done. With how popular her finished cosplay is, it would be interesting to see if she could pull off another,lesser knownWitcher 3character cosplay, such as Syanna or Shani.
WithThe Witcher 3set to receive a next-gen upgrade sometime in the future, fans are speculatingthe future of Ciri in theWitcherseries. Though CDPR has confirmed that their fantasy world will live on, they have not discussed whether they are developing a sequel, prequel, or something entirely different. The next title in the series may not be in the same timeline at all, completely abandoning Geralt’s story. Regardless of where the next game takes place, considering her overwhelming popularity with fans, it will be difficult to find a suitable replacement character for Ciri.
