Call of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 4 just started, but fans of the first-person shooter are already looking to the future. Some may be wondering exactly whenCall of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 4 will be coming to an end and Season 5 will begin, and thanks to the Season 4 Battle Pass, we have a pretty good idea of when that will be.

Barring any unforeseen extensions,Call of Duty: Modern WarfareSeason 4will end on Tuesday, August 4. Assuming it follows the pattern established by pastCall of Dutyseasons, that means theModern WarfareSeason 5 start date will be Wednesday, August 5. Like past seasons, Season 5 will likely bring with it a significant update that will add new maps, game modes, playable characters, and much more, so it’s no surprise fans are excited to see all of what it will entail.

There should still be plenty forCall of Dutyfans to look forward to in Season 4, however. A big mid-season update is planned forModern Warfarein July, and while Infinity Ward hasn’t revealed exactly what it will include, it has suggested that weapon balance changes will be coming as part of the update. More specifically, it’s been teased that theGrau will be nerfedwith theModern Warfaremid-season update, but fans should wait for more specific details on that front.

Of course, new seasons inModern Warfarealso means new seasons in theCall of Duty: Warzonebattle royale, and there should be plenty for fans of that mode to look forward to as well. Rumors have been swirling that abigWarzonemap changeis on the way, with some thinking it could come as part of the mid-season update, or as part of the Season 5 launch. TheWarzonemap change is also rumored to somehow be part of theCall of Duty 2020reveal, so it may not be all that surprising if it doesn’t take place until Season 5 starts in August.

ReputableCall of Dutyleakers have suggested that theCall of Duty 2020revealwon’t be happening until August, so if it is tied toWarzoneSeason 5, then maybe there won’t be any map changes happening this season at all. This is just speculation at this time, though, as Infinity Ward and Activision haven’t revealed a ton of specifics when it comes to the mid-season update or Season 5.

In the meantime, fans can expectnewCall of Dutyupdatesfor bothModern WarfareandWarzoneto continue releasing on Tuesdays.
