As is the case with manyother modern video games, there are several different versions ofTekken 8for prospective buyers to choose from. As well as the standard edition, there are also deluxe and ultimate versions of the game available, each of which comes with a bunch of additional downloadable content for players to enjoy.
There are also a few bonuses available for pre-orderingTekken 8, which, together with the three different versions, has the potential to make things a little confusing for some players. This guide will go over what every version ofTekken 8comes with while also offering a little insight into which edition of the game is best.

Tekken 8 Version Differences
There are three different versions ofTekken 8; the cheapest of which is the standard edition. This is effectively just the base version of the game and provides players with no additional content whatsoever. The biggest benefit of purchasing the deluxe edition ofTekken 8is the Year 1 Pass, which grants access to fouradditional DLC fighters. Players who splash out on this version will also get the Gold Suit costume for all 32 playable characters and the Kinjin Avatar Skin. Anyone who purchases the ultimate edition will get all of the aforementioned content as well as the ClassicTekkenTee Set avatar costume and Jin, Jun, and Kazuya skins for their online and Arcade Quest avatars.

Which Version of Tekken 8 is Best
Unless players are really into their cosmetic items, it’s probably best to avoid the ultimate edition ofTekken 8, as the only things that it provides that the deluxe edition doesn’t are avatar-related costumes and skins. It then becomes a question of whether players are likely to purchase the Year 1 Pass at any point, and whether they want to have access to the four fighters that it will eventually unlock right away. As of the time of writing, the only DLC character confirmed forTekken 8is Eddy Gordo, who will be arriving at some point before the end of spring. Although we do know that they’ll be releasing in summer, autumn, and winter respectively, there’s no telling who the other three will be, making it a bit of a gamble for players.
It’s also worth noting that the third season pass forTekken 7(which also provided players with four additional fighters) launched at $24.99, suggesting that it may actually be cheaper to purchase the standard edition ofTekken 8and the Year 1 Pass separately than it is to buy the deluxe edition at launch, though we won’t know if this is the case until pricing for the latter is officially revealed. Given thatMortal Kombat 1’s first Kombat Packand theStreet Fighter 6Year 1 Character Pass launched at $39.99 and $29.99 respectively, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if theTekken 8Year 1 Pass was priced at $29.99 or higher, which would potentially make the deluxe edition a decent deal for hardcoreTekkenfans.

Tekken 8 Pre-Order Bonuses
Anybody who pre-ordersTekken 8will gain access to two additional avatar skins (Tetsujin and Mokujin), with PS5 players also getting a specialPaul Phoenixavatar costume set. These pre-order bonuses come with all three versions ofTekken 8and will be unlocked as soon as players boot up the game for the first time. This is also the case for all of the deluxe and ultimate edition bonuses, with the exception of the four Year 1 Pass fighters, the latter of which will be dropping periodically over the course of the next year or so. As mentioned above, Eddy Gordo will be released in spring, with the other three characters dropping in the summer, autumn, and winter of 2024 respectively.
