Hinox inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomcan appear in various locations, and in total there are more than 60 in the game (67, to be precise). Hinox also have different tiers that can be encountered: regular, blue, and black. Curiously, there aren’t any Silver Hinox inZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, nor are there different tiers of Stalnox, the skeletal version.

The strategy to kill a Hinox is almost the same as the Stalnox – for both bosses, fire an arrow at its eye, then attack while it is stunned. Stalnox eyes will pop out eventually and must be attacked again to stop the Stalnox from reforming. If Link hunts down and defeats every Hinox inTears of the Kingdom, he gets a nifty little reward: the Hinox medal, which is a whole lotnicer than Hestu’s Gift at the least.
All Hinox Locations on the Surface
Hinox encountered on the surface of Hyrule will often be sleeping. In fact, almost all Hinox or Stalnox Link encounters inTears of the Kingdomare prone when discovered: regular Hinox tend to be laying down, making gutteral belly noises, while the bones of a Stalnox tend to lay still until an unlucky adventurer stumbles on them.
Tulin’s auto-aiming bow-and-arrow attacks can do wonders to proc the Hinox stun over and over again, as their eye is their weak spot and can be hard to aim when Link spends most of the fight at the Hinox’s feet. In total, there are 29 regular Hinox thatLink can find on the surface of Hyrule.

Where To Find Hinox in the Depths
Hinox in the depths don’t fight any differently than their surface counterparts, but the Gloom-based attacks will take away Link’s Max Hearts. These Hearts don’t come back until he eitherconsumes Sundelion foodor visits a Lightroot (or heads back to the surface to bathe in the sun’s natural rays). In total, there are 18 Hinox in the Depths.

Keep the Avatar of Tulin summonedwhen fighting these bossesto keep them virtually stun-locked, that is until they get smart and block their eye from attacks. At this point, it’s best to just run away and wait until it stops being defensive. Use a heavy weapon and the spinning charge attack to rip away their Health bar while they recover from being shot in the eye.
Stalnox Locations In Tears of the Kingdom
All Stalnox Locations on the Surface
Stalnox are the skeletal version of Hinox that players encounter more than a few timesthroughout their journeys inTears of the Kingdom. Though they aren’t nearly as populous as the Hinox, numbering only 10 on the Surface of Hyrule. Nevertheless, they shouldn’t be underestimated, and their wider range of attacks can be deadly for players who aren’t paying attention.
To kill a Stalnox, shoot its eye, then hit it during its lengthy stun period. This first part of the fight is just like fighting a Hinox. As players tear through its Health, though, it will rip off parts of its body, like its rib cage, to use as weapons. Keep Recall at the ready to send these hurtling back to the Stalnox.

When the Stalnox reaches close to 0 Health, its eyeball will pop out of its socket for only a few precious seconds. If Link hits the Stalnox eye once when it’s bopping around on the floor, the boss will be defeated. However, if he takes too long, it will fully reform with a small percentage of its Health recovered.
Where To Find Stalnox in the Depths
There are the same number of Stalnox in the Depths as on the Surface: ten in total, though they are found in different spots. Some of the Depths Stalnox will use Gloom-based attacks, so it’s important to prepare with someSundelionandDark Clumpfood beforehand to keep Link’s Hearts up.
Stalnox are sometimes placed in locations of interest, such as up north beneath the Skull Lake wherea Stalnox guards Biggoron’s Sword. Underneath the Royal Hidden Passage, a Stalnox lays in wait beneath a pile of rubble. Unlike Hinox, Stalnox tend to be placed in important spots, so keep an eye out for unique items and treasures around these boss spawn locations.
